Gomez was one of the best junior-feathers of all time and had an amazing KO streak. He wouldn't be able to Blitz Morales like he did so many others though. Erik had a very sturdy chin and could return fire with fire. There would be some terrific exchanges.

Really great fan friendly matchup, but Erik's style i think tends to fit onto Bazooka's a little to well and Wilfredo has a big edge in punching power. I think Gomez decisions Morales and drops him once along the way.

    Good post, Whiskey.

I'm surprised this one hasn't gotten more discussion...this would have been an awesome match-up.

Ultimately, though, I agree with you...I think Gomez's boxing ability, speed, footwork and especially power carry him through this one. I can see him moving and frustrating Erik into reaching and over-committing...then stopping to deliver his vicious combinations.

I like Erik's chopping overhand right against the smaller Wilfredo to rattle him throughout the fight....

But I think Gomez is just too good and punches too hard.

It goes as you say - Gomez by decision with a KD of Morales along the way.

    Peace.

Fuck a decision! I'm taking Gomez by stoppage. I dont care how tough Erik is, his defense is too shitty to last the distance with the 122 Gomez.
