Carl Froch may get the chance to avenge his 2010 defeat to Mikkel Kessler after rumours circulated that both Froch and Mikkel Kessler could get around $2 million each in a rematch, which is very likely to place around April, May or June 2013.

Froch lost his WBC super-middleweight title to Kessler in Denmark over 2 years ago and has recently said that he would love the rematch to take place at Nottingham Forest FC's home ground.

"We're making good ground with Kessler's team," Froch told sky sports news this week. "They're saying all the right things about wanting to fight and wanting to come over to the UK.

"Ideally I'd want it at Nottingham Forest's City Ground on the pitch, but realistically it's going to be very difficult to time it and I'm not sure he'd come to Nottingham anyway.

"But it's looking more likely that the fight with Kessler is definitely going to happen in May or June, it's just where. There's only one reason it won't and that's if Kessler doesn't want it, but I spoke to him myself last week and he said he does."

Eddie Hearn (Froch's promoter), spoke recently to BBC Five Live and he said that the fight is not far off from being confirmed.

"We have spoken to (promoter) Kalle Sauerland a dozen times in the last week and we’re very close to making the fight,"

"By the end of the year, we expect to be in a position to have that fight done."

He added: "We’ve also been talking to Lucian Bute and they want the fight in March but I don’t think that fight will happen. We’ve got a burning desire to fight Mikkel Kessler and that’s a huge fight for Britain.

"It’s a chance to avenge one of only two fights in his career. We’re doing everything we can to get that fight done, we’re looking at May."

It was a Close, Entertaining Fight the 1st Time...Neither Man was DOMINANT, Per Se....If Any Fight WARRANTS a RE, it's Froch-Kessler...

I got no interest in this fight at all. It will go the same way the first fight went. Neither guy has the power to dent the other's chin thus it will come down to skills and the above average technician will once again beat the above average brawler.

It wasn't a blowout, but I thought Kessler won it clearly.

I scored it a draw as I watched it but was comfortable with the result; some very close rounds and these tend to go to the hometown guy. I expect Froch to return the favour if he gets his wish and fights in the UK.

I like Froch and was rooting for him but I couldn't really see how anyone could make a case for him winning, or even getting a draw from the first fight IMO

kessler clearly beat froch when they fought and he'll beat his ass worse if they fight again. lets not forget kessler was coming fresh off an ass whipping from ward when they fought the first time. froch fans are delusional and think he's going to avenge these losses just based on change of venue.

I thin Froch ko's him this time. Let's remember that in the 1st fight, it seemed early on that Froch was gonna overwhelmed Kessler but then seemed to lack the aggression that characterised his recent performances. Probably the worst Froch performance on the big stage

Should be another excellent fight. I thought Kessler won a very close fight last time, leaning towards Froch in the re.

The fight itself already does that, regardless of my scorecard.

I actually picked Froch to stop Kessler in the 11th, I tend to always pick Froch fights wrong. With the exception of the Abraham fight, which was an obvious result to anyone who understands boxing.

Slice, I'll take the bait. Froch, before or since, hasn't shown the ability to keep away from an opponent like he did against Abraham. Abraham has never lost to an opponent who will engage with him. I thought the fight was destined to be a classic and Froch brought out his Whitaker impersonation.

Kessler/Froch 2 falls apart if there is not more money in England. Hopefully, this is not the case, but there is little reason for Kessler to come to England if he has to take less money or for Froch to insist upon it, for that matter. Hopefully, it's not the case, though. The winner should be next in line for Ward.

I just rewatched the fight and Froch did much better than I remembered. It defnitively could have gone either way. Great, great fight

what is amusing about that is at the khan-molina fight, fans would flock to that goofball more than to his son for pictures/autographs

Could be that the son is the lesser of two assholes, in every sense of the expression. The old man is really a cunt, and junior is a cunt in the making. Or it could be that the modern fan is a classic fan-boy, who, like a fish, remembers only what he saw most-recently.
