Ladies, gentlemen and in between queers (see what I did there? civil rights & inclusive appropriate!): we have this year's first big budget flop! Behold, Gods of Egypt Lionsgate/Summit $140 million production which they were hoping was going to be the beginning of a profitable franchise with a Mythological Expanded film universe, and which had an additional marketing budget of $30 million, crash & burn upon arrival! The Gerald Butler fantasy film debuted to atrocious reviews and a weak $14 million gross. Well, many films don't do that well domestically, but do great at the international market. True, but that is not the case with this one which opened simultaneously in other countries for a worldwide gross total of...$38 million. Someone just got fired at Lionsgate and is cleaning his office at this moment.

Repeating at the #1 spot for the third straight week, Fox Deadpool took an additional $31 million for a current domestic total of $285.6 million making it the third biggest R-rated film of all time behind #2 'American Sniper' ($350.1 million) and #1 'The Passion of the Christ'($370.2 million). It will be interesting to see how close to those two gets the Merc with a Mouth movie.

In the third place Kung Fu Panda 3 takes $9 million for a domestic total of $128 million and continues trailing way behind the previous two films in the franchise.

In the fourth place and not making much noise is Sony/ Columbia Pictures biblical tale Risen which took $7 million for a current total of $22.7 million. The film is holding well with only a 40% drop.

Two new releases took the fifth & sixth spots. Sports biopic Eddie The Eagle debuted in the 5th place with a so-so $6.3 million. It might or might not recoup its $23 million budget. It depends on well it holds in the following weeks. Triple 9 opened to a weak $6.1 million. The studio didn't disclosed how much it cost to produce, but even taking salary cuts I am sure that the salaries of its 11 name actors it cost more than $6 million.

Deadpool has grossed $600 million globally so far. It still needs $147 million more to tie with 'The Matrix Reloaded' as the #1 world wide R-rated film of all time.

Saw Deadpool yesterday. One of the most overrated movies ever.

    I thought it was mediocre.

Agreed, although I didn't have high expectations going in anyway. I found the excessive profanity unnecessary as well as the sexual content.

Agreed. The whole movie is..... "Ohhh, look - it's a cursing Superhero who enjoys sex! Woowwww." It really was nothing special at all. Kinda lame, actually. IDGAF what the critics say. It was stupid.

I took my 13 year old son with me to see the film, boy do I regret doing that, I feel like a bad father now. Definitely not for kids. He loved it though ( he's a comic book geek) but I made sure to cover his eyes and make him turn his head during the sex a nudity scenes. I couldn't do anything about the profanity or sexual innuendo though. Next time I see a rated 18 film, comic book or not I'll respect the rating.

He's already exposed to similar violence in video games sadly. So there was no point in worrying about that, still, some of it was pretty bad

Something I read about Deadpool: 'a comic-book movie for kids that only grown-ups can watch'
