I think GGG will use the jab, but it won't be the main game plan even if he can win that battle. A) I think he wants it to be a "big drama show" and B) he won't be able to do it as dominantly as he did against Lemoo anyway.

GGG could out jab Canelo however the main advantage that Canelo has over GGG is handspeed. Canelo's combination punching ability on the inside is very underrated and something GGG hasn't seen before. When Canelo lets his hands go it's highly impressive. His offensive is fast, varied and accurate. Both guys will be hurt to the body in this fight....the real question is who can take the body punches better? Also Canelo's power is still underrated...he can trouble GGG with his punches to say the least. GGG's chin is solid...but he wont just be able to walk through the punches like nothing.

I question Canelo's power... He hasn't stopped one world class fighter.

An argument can be made that GGG hasn't stopped one world class fighter either....still I don't question his power.

I hear what you're saying but it's clear that Canelo has heavy hands.

Kell Brook is world class, but he was a welterweight, it must be said.

Exactly. Not a world class Middleweight. Plus brook wasn't "knocked out".

    1. Brook is a quality fighter. Much better than the three bums, Kirkland, Khan, and Smith.... probably on the same level as a past prime Cotto.

    2. Had the fight continued, Brook certainly would have been eventually knocked up. His orbital bone failed first.

Thanks for bumping the thread. This fight needs more attention. My only question for Canelo is "how is he going to deal with that jab?". If Canelo has a strategy to nullify the GGG jab, he'll win.

In order for Canelo to win, he absolutely HAS TO establish an early edge.

If we see Canelo controlling the fight early, it's good for him, but Golov still might turn the tide by the mid rounds.

Conversely, if Golov is controlling the fight from the jump with his jab, I think the fight is over. Meaning it could turn into a slightly more competitive version of Golov-LeMoo.
