Who wins? I'd take Brown. Difference being stamina. Brown had it in spades, Ike did not. I think Ike builds a big early lead, but eventually slows down and Browns heats up. In the later rounds, I can't help but think Brown's left hook drops Ike. Quartey might survive, but I think Brown's late rally is enough to win a decision. That's a 12 rounder. In a 15 rounder, I think Brown stops him.
I also get the feeling Brown would score a late stoppage in a tough fight. Where do you guys rank Brown-Trice 1 on all-time WW fights? In the 80s?
It's one of the top 10 of the 80s. All time? Can't say. I think it's a tough fight but Brown gets him. Tall or cute guys frustrated Brown, Ike would bring out the best in him. I think Brown loses most of the early rounds but by midfight he adjusts and counters the hell out of Ike to the head and body. It turns into a dogfight late and Brown would pressure and hurt or drop Ike late. I think he eeks out a close one on the cards.
