Someone has to get generous scorecards in their favor.

I reckon Taylor would win more rounds, and would probably deserve the decision. But Canelo does enough in his spurts to justify giving him another gift. He probably hurts Taylor a few times, also. He definitely ain't putting Taylor away though. Canelo doesn't have the power of a Pavlik/Froch/Abraham.

    Canelo by questionable decision.

Taylor was a weird case. I remember watching him and thinking with his flaws, there was no chance he would beat Hopkins. But both fights were very close, and the Winky fight was highly competitive.

Canelo is the more technically skilled fighter, but Taylor is faster and could outwork him.

He was definitely a weird one. Looked basic and jittery and kind of scrubby, but somehow was not an easy guy to beat at all and even fought on even terms with Hopkins and Winky.

I think Taylor probably outworks him and at least deserves the decision. Taylor was big too, wasn't he about 6'1? Big and athletic with a high workrate, with just good enough boxing to be a very hard guy to beat.

How I see it too. Taylor wins more rounds but they're the closer ones. Canelo's are more clear and get a bigger crowd reaction. Has contentious decision written all over it.

Taylor had some physical tools but was rather clueless on how to use them.

He should be too big and too active to lose to Canelo, though. And I don't think Canelo has the power to do any real damage here.
