According to a report in the UK publication The People, Junior Witter (36-1, 21KOs) will defend his WBC junior welterweight title against mandatory contender Timothy Bradley (21-0, 11KOs) on May 10. The fight will likely take place in the United States. No venue has been set. In the last few weeks, both Witter and Bradley have lost their respective opponents and have chosen to fight sooner than expected. Witter lost an HBO televised date with Demetrius Hopkins after Hopkins dropped out due to promotional issues with Golden Boy Promotions. Bradley was ready to fight Jose Luis Castillo in a WBC final eliminator on March 8. Castillo was unable to make weight and Bradley was installed as the mandatory by the sanctioning body. "Bradley was due to fight Castillo in a final title eliminator but that was cancelled due to him not making the weight yet again, so we decided to take the fight now. Bradley is a tricky opponent for Junior, but it is a fight he is happy to take," Dominic Ingle, Witter's trainer, said. "The WBC wanted Junior to fight Bradley in September, but as there are no other credible opponents around, Junior wants to take it as early as possible so he can work towards unifying the division. We hope to line up a fight with IBF champion Ricardo Torres later in the year and, once Junior has the two titles, see where that takes him from there. But he is hungry to unify the division as quickly as possible." I guess Witter's earned a soft touch until somebody offers him a big money fight.
REED LIKES Bradley's AMBITION, but this Fight Seems a Bit EARLY N his Development... This Could B Judah-Witter All Over Again, w/Witter Playing ZAB's Role.... REED
welcome to last week. i posted this already. Finally someone has the balls to fight Junior. Needless to say, a SEVERE liquidation is in order for this opponent. Witter is very irritated and will be blowing bradley into next week. Hopefully he doesn't do too much damage.
My bad bruh. I didn't know you'd get jealous if somebody else made a thread about your boyfriend. You can have him, he's not my type anyway.
Actually I'm already on it. I root for Witter pretty much everytime and would especially so if he fights Ricky.
dude you make it seem like Witter is rejecting big money fights and accepting these shitty fights. ::
Is Bradley good or do you just think Witter is that shitty? In any case, Bradley by liquidation in 2!! ::
Nothing against Witter, who I think is a solid fighter. I think Bradley is as well - this is just a great match-up. I don't know if it's too early for Bradley but I thought he'd be a world champ the first time I saw him fight a year or two ago. Still feel that way; was pretty sure he was gonna stop JL Castillo if that fight ever came off. He's got a much tougher assignment in Witter but this will come down to who's hungrier. Like I said, if Witter wins, I'll be impressed. Won't say the same for Bradley because...well, that goes without saying.
REED Still Isn't sold on Bradley... He Struggled MIGHTILY w/Jaime Rangel, but he's Looked Aight Since then... REED Thinks it's a Wee bit EARLY, so if Bradley BEATS Witter, that's HUGE..."Upset of the Year" Type of Shit... REED
I hate Witter, but he's a pretty good fighter. Bradley doesn't seem anything special to me. The Shitter by liquidation.
Witter will win comfortably, IMO, and frankly it's about time he got out there and fought someone instead of sitting on Attraction's lap thinking of Hatton insults. It seems like he hasn't been in a ring for AGES.
