I've been challenging myself for the past week or so to run everyday. LOK knows this because we occasionally chat off the forum. Anyhow, today is Day 7, so I have created this thread for Hanzy and others to make fun of me/ridicule me/say I'll never make it, etc.

    Here we go, Hanzy! :warning:

This week, I'm going to try 2-a-days and see how that affects my metabolism. Relatively short bits of cardio---20 minutes at a time!

Thanks AG, I'm gonna give it a shot and see if I can keep it going. If I do, great. If not, Hanzy's got something to tease me with. :l2:

I have plenty of muscle from doing heavy weightlifting, but using lighter weights for awhile will help my tendons and ligaments to rest up while burning off fat. I'm just going to try something different and see if I can keep it going. Eating habits are a big part of it as well. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I hit the gym at lunchtime. 12 sets for bis and 10 for tris. Until recently, I didn't train either much because back and chest hit them so well. I did e-z bar curls working up to 130lbs for 8 reps after doing 110 for 10 reps. Close grip BP was 205 for 8 reps after three other sets pyramiding up. Reverse curls, I worked up to 80lbs for 8 reps. Tricep rope pressdowns I went from 50lbs for 8 reps up what the stack said was 190lbs for 8 reps. Did 6 sets on that exercise total. The 190lbs is BS though. I think it's connected by 2 pulleys, and one guy said you should divide the weight in half to 95lbs. That sounds more realistic to me. I used the whole stack.

After work, it's abs and cardio at the gym near my house. Flame away, Hanzy!!!

Good job Buddy. You are the beast! :bears: Speaking of beasts, I saw the WWE Wrestler Ryback at Walmart on Saturday. This guy is built like a silverback. Huge dude! I took some footage while I was there.

I ran a couple of miles after work, hit the gym, and then came home and did some woodchopping. If I had been trying, I couldn't have set it up better. I was doing kindling and the week's firewood when I took a big thick firewood log and put it on this woodchopping stump I have. The stump is bigger around Arnold Schwarzenegger's chest, and it's been my woodchopping stump for the whole winter. I lined up my swing for the firewood log, put some mustard on it, and then went through it and the stump, splitting the stump in half. I barely stopped the axe before it hit the concrete and ruined the blade ($40 logsplitter axe). I laughed, but me wife and son were looking at me like I was the Hulk. LOL. Dumb luck! :)

That's the screened-in patio having the firewood and the woodstove chimney pipe in it. Ambient heat, stump dried out over the winter, 10lb logsplitter axe (like a sledgehammer with a blade on it), etc. Still, the young lad likes to help out with carrying firewood, and he's getting fresh air. Not hardcore, but it was pretty cool.

Good show! As the weather picks up, I'll do some running around the lake. One lap around the lake is 1.73 miles. I hope to do 4-5 laps this summer regularly.

Go slow. You're a big wide dude from the photos. Careful with the knees. I'm gonna get a couple of photos that say Hanzy is the man when I finish this challenge. :)

Yeah, the knee begins to feel sore when you're running on concrete after the first 7-8 attempts. Running is so hard on concrete but it's probably the best weight loss exercise out there. Although I probably might buy an eliptical. I don't like treadmills much. I'm probably going to buy one of those small cameras which I can attach to my baseball cap and post the video on here of myself doing a lap. Then people can see that I'm actually running.

Not quite 5ft8. Not quite 220. I put on 15lbs over the winter. Usually I'm around 205 and have been for a number of years although 2 years ago I went down to 190. I made it down to 169 at one point, but it wasn't sustainable when I started weight training again. I have too much muscle to be anything less than 180-185. I'll be around that at the end of May. We'll see how it goes, but I squat 405 for reps and like to powerlift. Still, I'm too heavy.
