According to Fat Dan this is happening on 12/9 @MSG.

2 time Olympic gold medalist vs 2 time Olympic gold medalist.

Is this the most skilled fight ever?

If Rigondeaux were to win decisively and impressively at 130lbs you have to start to consider him among the 25 greatest boxers ever.

Rigondeaux's a Natural 118 Pounder and Really has NOfuckingBUSINESS @ '30...Especially Considering his AGE and the Fact Lomachenko's Younger, Bigger, Faster, Stronger and Arguably THE Best Fighter in the World, Pound for Pound...

Lomachenko's a SIZABLE Favorite, but You Can't Completely Rule Rigondeaux Out Because Loma WILL Accommodate Him by LEADING...

Putting this Matchup on ESPN is an Early Christmas Present...

I wasnt optimistic about Rigo's chances a year ago, but he looked razor sharp in his last fight against the dude he knocked out at the bell.

Loma is the favorite, but I ain't counting Rigo out.

And the winner should surpass Ward as P4P 1.

Loma wins. Rigondeaux would be fat at 130

    On skill and ability? Yes.

On accomplishment and substance? Not yet, Loma has yet to beat anybody as good as Kov.

A clear Rigo win would change that.

I'll say this - IF Rigo could summon the version that beat Donaire and bring that version up to 130, I'd pick him. That was one of the finest clinics in boxing history.

It works both ways. Rigo is a lot better than Russell Jr, Walters, or anybody else Loma has beaten.

I don't think Rigo will win either. Loma is rightfully gonna be favored and SHOULD win.

But Rigo is too talented to count out. IF, big IF, he can hurt Loma with his counters, we'll have one helluva interesting fight on our hands.

Being DEAD Serious, Dude Probably Wouldn't have to Cut Weight AT ALL, to Make 130...

REED's Stood Next to Rigondeaux, Who's a LITTLE Guy...SHORTER than Pacquioa, who's Short Himself, w/a SLIGHT, Middleschooler's Frame...

Win, Lose or Draw, he Should ONLY Fight @ '30 for this Payday, Which is Hopefully Substantial...

Ultimately, we've Seen Rigondeaux Hit, Hurt a Bit and DROPPED by '22 Pounders, Which Doesn't Bode Well...If Lomachenko Takes his Counters w/Out Much Fuss, Hard to Imagine Rigondeaux Lasting the Distance...

But that's the BEAUTY of this Bout; if Loma Engages, as he Typically Does, Rigondeaux WILL Counter Him...

These 2 will Ask AND Answer Questions of Each Other...

This is how I read the two fighters:

Lomachenko is superbly naturally talented. Arguably the best footwork that we have ever seen. Speed, stamina reflexes etc. On just talent alone he may have the edge here. However, when I watch Rigondeaux, I see a scientist...a thinking man...I believe he has the edge in terms of adjusting to his opponent. I see Loma winning early and Rigon adjusting and fight and getting to him late.

If they were the same size Id agree but, unfortunately, I suspect loma will straight up overwhelm him

If Loma "overwhelms" Rigo, it'll be impressive as fuck!

I expect Loma to pull away down the stretch based on youth and size, but I think Rigo is too good to overwhelm.

So, if Loma does so, he certainly proves he's the best P4P.

8lb is a big jump from 122 and at some threshold size just takes over no matter how good you are...if you can't get the other guys respect to keep him off you and every punch he lands hurts its deep water. Napoles-monzon, foster-frazier, spinks-tyson, even Gonzalez-wagnek recently

Napoles-Monzon was a MUCH bigger size disparity than Loma-Rigo.

Napoles was really a natural junior welter, despite his dominance at 147.

So you have a guy who's really a 140 pounder, moving up to fight arguably the greatest middleweight of all time at 160, and a BIG middleweight in Monzon.

The size difference isn't QUITE as dramatic in this fight.

He's probably more natural at 118, but still, he's a HUGE puncher at 122.

In fact, in the last 25 years, only Pac and Hamed have been bigger punchers at 122 than Rigo.

I wonder if he can hurt Loma if he catches him cleanly enough.

Loma's not a huge guy himself.

We just saw the video of him and Mikey Garcia, and Mikey looked dramatically bigger. And Mikey himself is a natural lightweight.

Loma's built for 126-130. He could dominate 135 because he's so good, but I think 140 is too big for him.

I actually don't think there has been a more skillful matchup in aggregation.

I mean we did have Leonard-Hearns 1, Leonard-Duran 1, Chavez-Taylor, Hopkins-Jones, Hopkins-Calzaghe....but this may trump all of them in pure boxing IQ on display.

Probably the best since leonard-duran. Although mccallum-toney warrants mention
