It started as a rumor, but now it is comfirmed that it is official: Quentin Tarantino has come with an agreement with JJ Abrams and Paramount Pictures to direct a Star Trek movie. Expect lots of Federation swearing, graphic gory violence and some of these... We might FINALLY get to see those green ladies,Orion slave girls, the galaxy's most famous whores, doing their thing...Trekkie nerds wet dream! "No male can resist them..."
Star Trek is a dying franchise. This, if done right, can be huge and revitalize the brand. Paramount could make their regular P-13 films to please families and also stand alone R-Rated movies for adults. (yes kids: that was Yvonne Craig, 'Batman' Batgirl!)
Star Trek already has 10 minutes dialogues of which 50% is techno babble jargon half of the audience don't understand. At least if you peppered it with cussing it will make it amusing: Kirk:" Sulu, set course for the fucking ionized nebula!" Spock: "Captain, the fucking ionized nebula is mostly lethal radioactive particles that can kill all of us." Kirk:" Shut the fuck-off, Spock! I am well aware of the risks..." Spock: "As your First Science Officer it is my goddamned duty to advise you against your illogical decision." McCoy: "Are you both out of your fucking minds? Your shitty arguments is wasting precious time and getting all of us fucked in the ass danger!"
sounds like it's gonna be something different for Tarantino. - and that's good, because Death Proof, Basterds, Django, Hateful 8 form a progressively deeper rut he's been digging for himself post-Kill Bill. if it ends up being yet another Kill Bill imitation but this time in space, it'll be lame
