I dunno how to score this slop fest... Bogere starts winging shots, Abril "attempts" to counter but winds up falling into a clinch
Abril is a disgusting fighter to watch. If he fought Miguel Vasquez, 75% of the crowd would hang themselves.
Showtime ain't really having any luck with these ''bad on paper but may turn out good because both fighter are hungry'', they basically alway's turns out to be worst than expected ( and that's pretty hard to since we all anticipated major shit ).
not only was the fight shitty, but showtime's credibility is shit now after they tried to act like it was a good fight.
at least bogure came to fight. abril is everything that's wrong with boxing. all the guy does is hold.
That's one difference between HBO and Showtime, and why HBO's telecasts are better. Showtime will always try to sugar coat a fight, and try to pour syrup on shit and call it pancakes. HBO will generally call a spade a spade if it's a horrible fight. Perhaps much of that is gone now, because Larry has retired. Could you picture Merchant calling Bogere-Abril with Al Bernstein? Bernstein "You know what? This is a rough, but highly entertaining fight! What do you think Larry?" Merchant "I think you should shut the fuck up! This fight is about as fun as a colonoscopy."
