How does the exciting fight play out? Does Duran have a chance to pull off similar to what he did in the first Leonard fight against a fighter like Gavilan? Or would Gavilan be a different kind of animal for Duran to handle?
Montreal Duran has a chance against any welterweight in history, but I would take Gavilan - close, but clear. Gavilan was just more comfortable and adept at infighting than Leonard - it was more his game than it was Ray's. He would be able to hold his own against Duran on the inside, and from the outside Gavilan would have the edge with his jab range, and handspeed. Gavilan by UD.
I would add that there would be no slowing down in this fight. Both had some of the best stamina of all time. Shit, Gavilan might have had THE best stamina of all time.
