For years, Shaun George has waited patiently for his chance to rise to the top of his division. His journey comes to a head on May 16, when the Brooklyn native faces former two-time heavyweight champion Chris Byrd on ESPN's Friday Night Fights in Las Vegas, NV. The fight will be contested at the light-heavyweight limit of 175 pounds. <!-- m -->http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=21456
I wish Shaun the best Carlos, even if he did eat that right hand that put him to sleep on that clip posted here last year in one round, and Chris Henry has never heard of him. Was that Arben that started that BS about him and Henry? Byrd will handle this guy easily, like a sparring session.
I wish Shaun sucess as a close friend and fan. He's had tough luck but is very skilled. In my opion Byrd is the underdog in this fight. He has to lose alot of weight and ajust to LWH speed from HW. He also is much older and has alot of miles on his engine. This fight will depend on the fight plan Tommy Brooks comes up with. "This sh#t is Chess not Checkers!!!"; Training Day.
I'm kinda excited to see chris byrd at LHW, I think he will have some pop on his punches against lighter opponents, by years of being used to punch HW. He should win this fight and quickly go straight to Tarver, Hopkins, Dawson and Johnson.
George has got some good skills. A shame he's ben fed to some guys who are better than he is. Good opportunity with a name here though.
