Finally watched this film last night. Based on a story by the late science fiction legend Philip K. Dick, the movie really got me hooked from the beginning when nothing out of the ordinary happens during the first 30 minutes (that is what got my wife interested, she thought it was a drama; if I had told her it was a science fiction film, she would have left the room immediately). Matt Damon did a good job as Norris, the young ambitious politician who without knowing it puts in jeopardy his own future by falling in love with sexy modern dancer, Elise (Emily Blunt who in my mind can never do an unlikable role). After Norris assigned Bureau agent makes a mistake and Norris sees something no human was supposed to see, the movie takes a paranoid rollercoaster pace and lots of chases follow. This film reminded me of an old 90's episode of the first tv remake of The Twilight Zone show where a similar concept was shown. Probably that one was also based on Philip K. Dick's story. While not a great movie, it is a good one and the acting parts are solid (except for Terence Stamp, who IMO just recited his lines and seemed to be bored). Emily Blunt was great as usual. This is the kind of science fiction I like to see more: plot driven with practically no special effects. I recommend it.
I liked this one and went into it fully expecting to hate it. The concept just seemed pretty lame to me, but they pulled it off pretty well IMO. More of a noir type Science Fiction. Not entirely believable but enjoyable. 7.5/10
