An excellent movie. Was an instant buy for me and withstands repeated viewings very well.

good fillum. good casting: bale great at playing dark or damaged characters, and jackman always a compelling hero.

    Good movie.
The characters played by Bale and Jackman are both huge cunts.

You actually have it reversed. Jackman was nowhere near a hero in The Prestige. He was actually the dark and damaged character who was obsessed with revenge and obsessed with bettering Bale.

Good movie, but to call it great is a stretch. Of course Nolan fans see a masterpiece in everything he does.

I like Nolan... but I do NOT think all his movies are masterpieces.

Inception was overrated as FUCK! By far his most overrated work. Incredibly boring movie that tried toooo hard to be smart.

The Dark Knight is a classic and a masterpiece, but Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises are both very overrated.

Interstellar was a let down, because the first half was a masterpiece and seemed like his best movie to date... then in the second half it kinda fell apart. Still a good movie, but it coulda been great.

Insomnia was mehhhh... good performance by Robin Williams, but Pacino looked like he was just there for a check.

    Following was a good movie.

I consider The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and Memento as his three best movies.

Memento never fails to put me to sleep, the best remedy for insomnia.

you're right. now i (kind of) remember. jackman starts out as his usual nice hero character, but gets gradually obsessive. - and that was good.

I hated Interstellar, thought Memento was overrated and enjoyed Inception. I'm no fanboy of Nolan but The Prestige is an excellent film. Powerhouse performances from two great actors and the film being setup precisely in the same fashion as the explanation for magic at the start. Excellent.

Interstellar was an awesome movie for about the first 90 mins.

Not being able to hear the dialogue annoyed me. Nolan said he did it on purpose. CUNT

Did he say why? It was a very disappointing movie overall though. I did read the screen play beforehand and was disappointed in that. Even with the changes it was lackluster. At least I wasn't surprised though.

I don't really remember but it boiled down to artistic license I believe. Not sure how muddying the dialogue in a medium that relies on it is artistic.

Interesting thing about this move iirc is there was another movie out around the same time with a virtually identical plot that was also pretty good. Cannot remember the name.

Same thing happened with the Capote movie. There were two movies about Capote released within months of each other.
