One of the biggest debates in movie history... which is better?

My opinion will never change... 1 is better by a pretty good margin.

Not saying II isn't a great movie as well, it is... but I wouldn't say it was even the best movie in the year it came out.

I think Chinatown and The Conversation were both better.

Why is this even a question? Godfather 1 is clearly better. 2 is a great film also but it can’t compare with the original

Godfather for sure. The second is a great movie too but not as timeless as the first.

Finish watching the trilogy(try) a few days ago on Netflix....
Godfather is my favorite...is the story of FAMILY...
Godfather II is very good..for a while I went back n forth...but after rewatching it again for the 100th time...I prefer the Original...

    III was terrible....SHIT....everyone in it was shit...the daughter...the son....the bastard...the gangstas...the old gangsta...the church...the vatican....the Don...everyone sucked...

As far as I am concerned there is no Godfather 3, just like there is no Alien 3 and there is no Rocky 5.

Alien 3 I would say is merely 'average'.
    Watchable.

It's the next one, Alien Resurrection which is pure, forgettable diarrhoea of aN attempt at a movie.
(some cocksucker on this forum likes it...can't remember who though)

I think I liked GF2 slightly more when I saw it the first time, but GF1 has more replay value to me.

I don’t know, they’re both masterpieces to me.

Godfather 2 is memorable because it is two films in one. It’s both sequel and prequel. Very unique in that regard. I preferred the prequel story slightly to the sequel. In particular I loved seeing Vito get his revenge on the old Don back in Sicily

    Nah!
The Godfather Part IV is the best! No more Pacino (only DeNiro in brief flashbacks) and Andy Garcia as the new Don Vincent Corleone, ruling with an iron fist, showing those old mobsters whose the boss in town was amazing! Too bad it bombed at the box office. 9/10
