Close to being finalized for July. Thoughts? I'm thinking Thurman wins, despite his poor showing against Lopez. But I'm certainly not confident of that pick.
The game is fucked up Thurman sits out 2 years, shamelessly ducks Spence Comes back to face a journeyman who he looked like complete excrement against And he's rewarded with a career high payday against a vulnerable, geriatric former champ Hopefully Pacquiao beats the shit outta hin
I hope Pac fucks him up as well, but I feel like Thurman will be sharper than he was against Lopez, and will win. Pac didnt blow me away against Broner, and Broner is a complete bum. Then I predict Thurman will ONCE AGAIN find a way to duck Spence.
Great fight, Thurman should be favored but Pac looked really good vs Broner so who knows if he will be able to turn the clock once more (especially since Thurman does not seem to be 100% focused on boxing anymore). Surprised that it's met with so much negativity in the forum (well, not that surprised considering it's Fightbeat where every current fighter not called Spence not only sucks but are also duckers and cheaters).
Look, prime Manny would wipe his ass with Thurman in under 6 rounds. Even circa 2012-2013 Pac would beat him clearly. But Pac is old, and he couldn't even seriously damage that bum Broner. Broner is completely useless, so Manny won every round, but I he's gonna find Thurman a more difficult task. I favor Keith like 55/45.
If Thurman loses, I'm 110% sure he retires. If he wins, it's still possible he retires, rather that take the ass whuppin we ALL know Spence would give him.
He won nearly every round though. Obviously he isn't as dynamic as the old Manny but he doesn't need to destroy Thurman, he just needs to win the rounds, which he is capable of doing. That's all that matters.
I think in my mind Thurman sweeps the early rounds and gasses. It would depend on what round he gasses in for Manny to win
Great fight. Wonder when fightbeat darling Crawford will ever fight an elite talent beside Postol Prime Pac would obviously win this easy, and Thurman looked bad in his return fight, but He'll be as motivated as he can be for that one. I think he's a clear favorite
Ohh cut your Crawford hating horseshit out! Pac wanted NO PARTS of Crawford. Crawford wanted the fight. Arum wanted the fight. Pac didn't want it. Your Crawford hate is just annoying.
Pac didn't like the offer. If Top Rank really wanted the fight they would've offered Pacquiao whatever Haymon is paying him. No?
@ the Time, Pac Would've Absolutely RAPED Crawford @ the Negotiating Table...It Would've/Should've Been a VERY EASY Fight to Make, As Such... That Said, There's Culpability w/Pac AND Top Rank for the Crawford Fight NOT Happening AND Pac Eventually Leaving... Given the (LACK of) Depth Amongst Top Rank's ELITE Level Talent (@ the Time), it's Plausible Arum was RELUCTANT to Pit Pac Against Crawford Until He ABSOLUTELY Had To...Loma Wasn't LOMA Quite Yet and Top Rank Had YET to Sign the ESPN Deal...& By the Time they Did, Arum Had ALREADY Fucked Pac in the 1st Bradley Fight, THEN Fucked Pac Yet Again in the Jeff Horn Fight...Pac-Horn was Top Rank on ESPN's Inaugural Broadcast if REED's Not Mistaken... In BOTH Instances, Those Controversial Losses "Just Happened" to COINCIDE w/the END of Pac's Top Rank Contract... Obviously, Pac Wasn't Terribly Interested in Facing Crawford, but Arum was EQUALLY DISINTERESTED in Making the Fight Also, for a Stretch @ Least...& By the Time Arum FOR SURE WANTED the Fight, Pac Saw the Depth of PBC's Welterweight Roster, Coupled w/His CONVENIENT "Losses" Whenever his Top Rank Contract was Due to Expire... REED
For a guy who constantly bitch.about fighters you dont like, you have quite a thin skin when it comes to criticism against fighters you like. You always have something negative to say about thurman, like he ducked b or c, yet his resume blows Crawford one out of the water
Exactly. Pacman has a history of facing top fighters, while Crawford always has an excuse to face the flotsam he has. The onus is on him to.proves he really want to face top guys. But then, most posters here write their little narrative depending on who they like or not, facts be damned
I don’t think Pac-Crawford not happening can be blamed on Crawford. Politics clearly prevented that one from happening. Crawford has wanted that fight for a long time. Manny clearly sees Thurman as a more winnable fight than either Crawford or Spence, which is understandable. Maybe later this year or in 2020 we’ll get the fights we want.
Politics? They had same promoter. Maybe TR is to blame. But Crawford is responsible for his own career. At some point, he has to be accountable for his lack of top competition .
I don't like this fight. Manny is going to be hurt. It will be sad to see him retiring like this after this bout. I hope it gets cancelled.
