Like it was supposed to happen? When Manny was crushing people and looking invincible to the point where Floyd was accusing him of doping?...Floyd as we know was also looking invincible and still has not lost anything...in fact he is physically bigger and stronger then he was when he was younger so does this fight end the same way? Keep in mind manny is now 3-3 in his last 6 fights
The fact that Manny is 3-3 in his last 6 says an awful lot about where Manny is at. I think Manny may have outpointed him back in the day. Not that the commentators would have let us form that belief, mind you.
This fight does nothing to change my opinion, it went almost exactly as I suspected. Maybe if Floyd had battered him from pillar to post and KO'd him it would have changed my mind. 5 years ago it is a different fight, and I still think Manny would have outpointed him in a close fight.
I mean it would have been a fantastic fight Manny doesnt have that killer instinct anymore (laughing at the staredown, take selfies on the ring entrance...smiling and laughing during the fight and after the fight..geez) Manny's speed is not what it used to be Manny doesnt fight with the same energy like he used to....just in spurts Manny spends time playing basketball, being mayor, etc.. I just don't see the point of him fighting anymore
if you look into my post about how i felt manny could win.....i typed it imagining prime manny in my mind....what is funny is that the rounds Manny won last night he outworked mayweather and even stunned him here and there...imanny every time though would immediatly lose the next round because he just didnt have the energy to continue the momentum he had started...anyhow
Manny's best chance was indeed 09. He was at his very peak that year, whilst Floyd has been past his prime since probably 07. PRIME for PRIME though, let's hypothetically say it's the peak Floyd of 04-05. Manny gets stopped. That version of Floyd would have countering the shit outta Manny with MORE than one shot at a time, and would have turned up the heat on him late.
Probably the same result, but a better fight and more rough moments for Floyd. Mayweather wins 8-4, the fight would have been better. The fans got screwed. What else is new?
I don't think FLoyd was at his peak in 04-05 at all....I think Floyd got better with age..just because your younger does not mean your better IMO of course
X is right. Floyd was at his peak up to the Baldomir fight, then started to slip ever so slightly. I could stretch it to Hatton fight but after that he hasn't been the same.
the whole problem is how manny got his life changed by that JMM counter...made him scared of any mayweather counter
Stupid pac lovers saying this shit... "He avoide pac five years ago cuz pac would knock him out" That's such BS 5 years ago Floyd threw more and was faster. Floyd whips him I don't care if it was 10 years ago', 5 years, , last night, or in 20 more years
Yeah. We can't just ignore the fact that Manny is 3-3 in his last 6 PBF is a guy who will only fight if he feels everything possible is stacked in his favour. His timing was good. Manny is clearly not the same fighter, & we all knew it. I just hoped that he would regain the fire, but it's gone. If PBF didn't duck him, & they had fought back then, based on yesterday, I would pick Manny.
prime Floyd didn't even 'whip' Baldomir, or old man DLH 5 years ago against Pac he would try to do just enough to win, as always..only would get outworked and lose Floyd damaged his legacy with the Pac fight, unfortunately
once again: floyd haters and manny dickriders are imagining what-if scenarios where their boy doesn't get totally outclassed
5 years ago Floyd was in his prime. Hes 2 years older than Manny and wouldnt have given up the only 2 rounds he lost on Saturday.
Floyd is still a better boxer no matter if it was 10 years ago or in 10 years of when they were 10 years old 5 years ago it would have been more one sided for Floyd.
If it was 5 years ago, the fight would have resembled rounds 4 and 6, ie when Pacquiao somewhat resembled the Pacquiao of 5 years ago.
I just think after paceman whipped de la hoya the fight should have been made right away..what a miss by boxing
Disagree completely It seems like people talk about five years ago like it only applies to pac Lol Floyd was faster and threw more and more aggressive I think it's a more fan friendly fight five years ago and pac still gets whipped
Greatest 'never was' fight in history. Could have been two of the best at their best but instead we got two older fighters earning a payday.
I've watched it multiple times already, it really is a good display Pacs looks like such a bitch, he looks like he is gonna cry to Freddie Fucking Freddie all that shit talking .. Remember him talking about "how good my guy cuts off the ring" How about "when manny hits you, his speed and power is fucking DEVASTATING" :laugh100: He landed like 80 punches in 12 rounds LOLOLOLOL
Holy fuck man. Manny, manny, manny! Floyd looked slow as fuck himself in there. This is a 38 year-old fighter who relies on his reflexes more then most. Am I the only one who noticed he no longer is able to snap his jab off? He was pushing it the entire fight. He was also halfway dazed by a couple glancing shots that he used to shake off like nothing. Floyd's close to taking a beating and needs to retire before he ends up like RJJ.
Yep. This is why I think Khan has a chance. Also agree that people talk like Pac is the only one who aged in the past 5 years, when Floyd is 2 years older, and visibly slower.
