If I had to pick it would be Canelo although it wouldn't take a whole lot for Davis to surpass him.

Canelo's style isn't bad, he just has no stamina and little imagination

    Calzaghe's style is cancerous

Thurman is a leap amateur and dreadful to watch

    Davis is pretty leap-tastic

Easily Thurman. As I told you on the other thread, I don't dislike Thurman at all. I think he's a pussy for avoiding Spence these past couple of years, but I still have love for him.

    Fuck the other three.

For what it's worth.... I have NO love for Joe.... but he's SEVERAL classes better than the other three.

Davis is the weakest link here as a fighter. I truly believe he's a complete scrub, with nothing going for him outside of a powerful left hand.

Thurman and Canelo are both good fighters, just overrated.

Calzaghe is easily the best, probably followed by Canelo. Thurman is decent. I rate Gervonta fairly highly. He's a good fighter but not on the elite level.

agREED on the Stamina, but REED Thinks Canelo Puts his Punches Together VERY Well, To the Head and Body, and is UNPREDICTABLE in His Delivery...

Perhaps I'm a bit harsh on his offense but defensively he seems to do the same things over and over

Gervonta has a Fan Friendly Style, but he Seems More Consumed with the IDEA of Being an Elite Level Fighter than Actually Putting in the WORK to Be One...

Losing his Title Barely 5 Minutes After he Won it, On the Fucking SCALES No Less, is SHAMEFUL for a Young Fighter...

Like Broner, Gervonta Looks @ Floyd's MONEY and LIFESTYLE w/Out Realizing Floyd Busted his Ass for Nearly 10 Years, in Mainstream Anonymity, Before Acquiring that Money and Lifestyle...

REED Can't Stand the Motherfucker, but "Money May" PAID his Dues...Yes, Along w/the Cars, the Bling and the Mansions, Floyd's DUES are Paid For...

Gervonta and Broner Are Trying to SHORTCUT Their Way to Floyd's Level of Notoriety....

As Such, REED Doesn't Expect Much from Gervonta...He's on the Urban Radar, but That's about as Good as it'll Get Until he Alters his MINDSET...

    Well said again.

I, for one, couldn't give two shits about Calzaghe until he battered Lacy. It was only then that I said to myself "Shiiiiiiit, this guy is extremely good afterall". In my case I became a believer at the 11th hour, but I could understand if most fans were turned off by then.

Canelo is a good fighter. He's not "great" (his stamina weakness prevents him from being great) but it would take a great fighter to beat him.

Also (in regards to Calzaghe) people like to say Lacy is a bum after the fact but going in Lacy was undefeated, a reigning champion, high in confidence, and most Americans were convinced that he was going to beat Calzaghe. So, Joe HAS to be given credit for dominating such a guy (Dominating isn't a strong enough word actually).

Correct. I like all of these guys and Calzaghe is probably my favorite of them (for now), but the others haven't avoided tough fights like Calzaghe did for so long.

Davis gets a pass at this stage of his career.

    Likewise...

REED Can Admit he Thought Lacy Would Wipe his Ass w/Calzaghe...5-6 Rounds Max...Calzaghe DEMANDED REED's Respect that Night Though, No Question...

But Even w/Such an Impressive Manner of Victory, Dude had ALREADY Been Champion 9 Friggin' YEARS PRIOR to the Lacy Fight!!!...

PERSPECTIVE and CONTEXT are Everything in Boxing...w/Out it, EVERY Fighter's Worth Can Be Gleaned from Boxrec...

Jeff Lacy was Considered a KILLER Pre-Calzaghe, a Young, Mini-Mike Tyson in the Making...He was Building Momentum and was Being Groomed for Mainstream Notoriety...

Minimizing Lacy Post-Calzaghe is Hindsight Revisionist Bullshit...Joe Calzaghe Dominated THE BEST Version of Jeff Lacy that Ever Existed in a Fight he was SUPPOSED to Lose...

I'm probably the biggest Calzaghe fan on this board but I've always said he deserves the majority of the shit he gets on here (with the exception of the Hopkins fight which he did try to make), it's one of the most frustrating things about being a fan of his, but hey it's his own fault.

Let's not get overboard. Guy needed friendly judges to get past Omar sheika. The same Sheika that got his ass whooped by Eric Lucas.

Grant was also highly regarded before the LL fight. Doesnt means LL beating him is a huge accomplishment
