Wilder is too raw and amateurish. Ortiz is durable and is more polished.

Beyonce has pulled a Ginger. He wouldn't have dared fight Ortiz a few years ago, but he's taking the fight now because he feels Ortiz has turned old.

Only difference is, Ginger is wrong, but Wilder is probably right. Ortiz is 75 years old.

You also gotta look at the bigger picture, a Beyonce win is a good thing. It'll make Joshua-Wilder a bigger fight than it already is.

AJ will put an end to this Bama fraud, but I think Ortiz is too old.

38 is old for a boxer no doubt but it isn't too old for a fighter with a measured style of fighting and a fighter that hasn't taken too much punishment in his career. Deontay will burn himself out trying to knock out Ortiz and get clobbered late

The gap in skill is so large that Ortiz SHOULD win this fight. On paper, this is a bad opponent for Windmill Wilder.

My concern is Ortiz's age and conditioning. Plus his less than stellar
recent showing. I fear it could be catching up.

Rooting hard for an Ortiz win, but I wouldn't be shocked if Wilder takes him outta there with some big shots.

Funny how I'm known as the biggest Wilder hater (proud of it), yet I'm the only one picking Beyonce to win.

I hope you guys are right. I hope Ortiz does destroy this louth mouth hack.

I'm sort of with you on this one. Really want Ortiz to win, but I think the one thing Wilder can actually do, punch hard with long range shots, could be the key to beating the aging Ortiz.

I'm surprised this fight has been made as it's a huge risk for Wilder and a loss really puts the Joshua fight in jeopardy. I mean why would they risk the biggest pay day of Wilder's career? Joshua-Wilder is much bigger than Joshua-Ortiz. Is Ortiz shot, is he old? I'm not so sure. From what I've seen of him recently, he still looks as good as he has done in previous fights.

Fuck it, it will still be a big fight. People put way too much stock into unbeaten records.

Maybe Wilder lacks negotiating power and so is lookimg to improve his position by first beating Ortiz.

Plus, he is much taller than Ortiz. He can probably jug him in close and smother his game, and pick him off from the outside.

Yes, he will still be a name and he will still get the Joshua fight.

If he wanted negotiating power it would have made more sense to take on Whyte in the UK. Easier fight as well.

Yeah, Sly is right. If Ortiz destroys this goofball then the Joshua fight is dead. Wilder will return to Alabama and fight no-hopers for the rest of his career.

I kinda want Beyonce to win. Joshua-Wilder is the one heavyweight fight that will capture the attention of mainstream Americans.

I agree. I would have rather had Joshua Wilder happen than any other fight for either fighter. Wilder should have fought Bellew first and then Joshua. Taking on Ortiz is a mistake IMO. Ortiz is all wrong for him. Best thing Wilder can hope for is to go the distance and get a hometown decision IMO.

Eddie Hearn is praying Wilder makes it through this, Joshua-Wilder is easily the biggest money fight in the division.

Yeah I would have thought Wilder would opt for Bellew in the UK to get the casual UK fans talking and Hearn creaming in his pants. Imagine Wilder KO'ing Bellew then himself and Joshua having a war of words inside the ring after the fight.

I guess it will still be a big fight as Wilder's a dangerous puncher, but it won't be as big if Ortiz lays him out.
