I know it's not one of Denzel's more critically acclaimed movies, but I always liked Fallen. Solid movie, and a great ending.
Yeah, I'd list Out of Time also. That's a fun movie to watch... enhanced by the fact that it co-stars Sanaa Lathan at the peak of her sex appeal.

Yes as an actor. Movies are good though. I didn't see anything profound about his performance in Man On Fire and so many give that one kudos. That said, FLIGHT is very underrated and so is his performance in that one.
Considering Eli's book was a copy of the Bible, it would have been difficult to avoid "the religious angle".
