Agreed! He will be dangerous for the first 3 rounds though. All Cotto has to do is be careful and work the body. Fight will be over by the 6th round.

 

Cotto should beat Mayorga, but Cotto doesn't have the best chin and if nothign else Mayorga hits hard. Not sure why Cotto even took this fight. Nobody is really going to care if Cotto beats Mayorga but Cotto's career might be over if he loses to Mayorga.

Should be a fun fight though. As a fan I can't complain at all.

cottos career isnt over so this shouldnt be seen as a cashout fight

I would have prefer Cotto vs. Angulo or Kirkland(is he out)....

 

I don't know... the final two months of 2010 featured four FOTY candidates and the Knockout of the Year, in fact all within a span of six weekends.

I don't doubt that Cotto-Mayorga will be a fun fight (however one-sided it may be), but it's not exactly the fight to save boxing.

 

Agreed! Angulo would have been better for Cotto to prepare for Margarito.

Is it me, or was the translator for Cotto not very accurate?

From the little bit of Spanish i understand Cotto was saying how he was a professional and that Mayorga was a mouthy clown, but the translator gave a different version.

 

Why not, isn't that what they're there for?

If nothing is done i'll consider it proof that there are Puerto Ricans working in that dept covering your ass.

 

This fight CANNOT last the distance. Both men are fragile and both can bang. Anyway, it's more likely that Cotto knocks out Mayorga in about 6 rounds and that'll be my official pick.
