When have I praised Overeem?

Also the last three fighters he's been set to fight he couldn't for various reasons.

1) Arlovsky - Got KOd by a tire changer and hasn't won a fight since. He then destroyed said tire changer in a laughable affair.

2) Werdum - Shoulder surgery that's kept him out almost a year. It's his next fight anyway, but due to retardo SF management, the fight isn't a title fight because it is apart of the Grand Prix. Of course, Overeem is avoiding defending his belt!

3) Fedor - Every.Excuse.Ever. along with contractual issues with Strikeforce that just recently got settled.

 

Also, this constant taking shots at Overeem for not defending that worthless title for 3 years is getting to be stupid and short sighted. Its amazing how people judge Overeem in hindsight in comparison to Fedor, while Fedor was fighting obviously deteriorated and outright bad fighters like Sylvia, Coleman and Arlovsky, he gets the ridiculous benefit of hindsight.

However, Overeem is somehow judged poorly because the organization he fought in lacked HWs.

During the entire 1st calendar year he held his title, only a single HW fight took place. A gimmick fight between Rick Roufus and Maurice Smith.

Then, the tremendous gap between events has to be considered. Two events after November 2008(a year after he won it), June 8, he was scheduled to fight but was forced to withdraw with a hand injury and was replaced by Arlovsky(a guy who was supposed to be a challenger for his belt)....his scheduled opponent? Bum Rogers, who he later embarrassed.

The next HW fight in the org was Fedor vs the Big Bum. This is when Overeem starting calling out the Fraud, but 100 excuses, co-promotional and contractual issues later, Overeem ends up facing Bum Rogers on the heels of his loss and blows him out.

Then SF acquires essentially EVERYONE that is currently in the tournament. But injuries to Werdum set the fight between those two back. Fruador went back into hiding. And really all that was left was maybe Antonio Silva. So Overeem said fuck it and fought K1.

This whole thing about Overeem ducking the United States is ridiculous and inaccurate.

You make no sense. You criticize Fedor for his choice of competition, yet you give Overeem a pass because "its not his fault the org he fights in lacks in the HW division". You are just young and foolish.

why does he fight for that org then. He could have signed with the UFC when Pride was bought. He chose not to. So did Fedor. You criticize Fedor for the same things you praise Overeem for.

 

You act as if the UFC was knocking over tables to sign Alistair up. Alistair simply wasn't a big deal back then, and going back and forth between K-1, Dream and Strikeforce was clearly a better financial and career option for him.

Fedor, on the other hand, was offered one of, if not the most lucrative deal in the UFC and an immediate title shot.
