You weren't even following boxing then, were you?

And let's not also act like Liakhovich didn't beat Brewster, who was picking up steam many people's choice as the heavywight champion at the time...despite Kali Meehan's best efforts.

Oh I see you need to be alive and following boxing at the time that a fight took place to have an opinion on it. Right. Sure.

So...Briggs beating Liakhovich who beat Brewster who beat Wlad is worse than Foreman losing to Morrison before going on to win the Undisputed heavyweight title in the same era that Bowe refused to face Lewis?

    Nice.:Hanzkiller:

    How'd you score Foreman-Briggs?

And I'm curious, what did your heavyweight top ten look like around March 31, 2006?

    Briggs won that fight.

Bowe refusing to fight Lewis and Morrison victim Foreman beating up on a former 175lbr to win the title. Hell of a division.

You know all your steel is made in China now too, right?

Why? Was it interrupted half way? Like on a cut or something when the fight was still up for grabs? :crafty: Keep them hands up Mitchell :crafty:

Oh, you want me to get my score-card that I have filed away and post it here, is that it.

    Briggs won the fight.

Briggs vs Foreman was on the cover of Boxing Monthly January Edition, 1997.

    The headline: "What Robbery??"

    Beg your pardon: Jan/Feb 1998

The point remains that I am more familiar with that fight than you might be willing to at first accept.

you should have done a poll and it should have included:

    Kevin Johnson 22-0-1
    Arreola 27-0
    JC Gomez 44-1-0-1 (really 45-1)
    Samuel Peter 30-1
    Corrie Sanders 39-2
    Kirk Johnson 34-1-1
    Hide 31-1

I think Gomez is the choice.

It's not a bad resume of wins, it's just missing big names. Gomez would have whipped any version of Holyfield, imo, but certainly any version since Ruiz. I would pick Gomez over any version of Byrd, too.

You asked me who did I have winning and I said Briggs.

You asked me how I scored it and I said under the 10 point Must System and the Unified Rules of The Association of Boxing Commissioners.

    What more do you want???

Here it is for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-7jrUVyjMM

Gomez and Sanders suffered surprising losses earlier on in their careers. These losses are being used to totally detract from the value of those two fighters as notable competition. But Holyfield was losing surprisingly to guys like Moorer himself. And Moorer was losing surprisingly to Foreman who in turn was losing to Morrisson who lost to Mercer etc.

At the time it was probably Arreola. In hindsight not so much anymore. It was probably Gomez or Peter

So you're saying you scored it for Briggs? If that's the case, then it's good to know how you score fights.

Thankfully you've found a video link for it...I imagine you, who derives so much pleasure from watching Foreman fights ("Bottom line is that every second Mike Moorer spends peeling himself off the mat versus Foreman is a second I spend laughing at your Vitali-oriented cynicism.") wouldn't mind watching this one and posting your personal scorecard of it.

I dont derive much pleasure from watching Foreman fights. At least not the tripe from his "2nd career"

    Where did I say that?

Tell you what, are you trying to say that Foreman did a job on Briggs 10 years before Vitali, is that your line? I mean please say so if it is.

I believe I'm pretty clearly asking you for your scorecard of Foreman-Briggs.

Let's work on getting that out there before taking that next step.

Absolutely. As soon as we have my scorecard we can get back to debating the best win of Vitalis shoddy career.

What Vitali should do,.. instead of fighting anyone within his own division,..'lame heavyweights' ... is drag up accomplished fighters from lower weights,.. Supermiddleweights, and Lightheavyweights,.. and get some 'names' on that resume,.. as that appears to be the way it works.

LOL at Irish trying to get a discussion back on topic.

Of course, when Irish's only "topic" on this forum is the Klitschko's, it doesn't matter whether it's a thread about a Klitschko or a thread about another fighter, getting a thread "back on topic" is always about getting it back on the Klitschko's.

But remind me, who was it that introduced Foreman...more specifically, the "Formanized era of the 1990's", into this thread, which you so adroitly pointed out was for "debating the best win of Vitalis shoddy career"?

       ,...

I can't think of a better picture and caption that sums up the very definition of boxing,... you wonder why I'm a bit shy to say too much that is boxing related?... Sometimes I just dont feel like throwing up in the morning boy.

Foreman was the man. The 90s was a shit hot era. Cruiserweights and Loserweights, Rock Newman, Trash Cans- Riddick lost cos of the weight loss man, Fan Man, Man, It was Fan-Man.....This thread was about a Klitschko. Sorry pal. You and the rest of the chaps down the Schul will have to be go back your Foreman threads. Thats Yuri, not George, by the way. Right now, I am making you look like a washed up Tito Trinidad, as Max Kellerman would say. Have a nice day. Okay?

Is that how you have on your scorecard?

Given the way you scored Foreman-Briggs, I think you've proven you can't score for shit.

On second thought, Calzaghe dominated the rest of the fight...so I agree with your assessment.

    Why, you pregnant?

If we could just....If we could just...I mean....if Arreola could look after California and we could just get rid of these fucking crackers man, and go back to the way it was man, go back to the way it was. Who needs the WBC? We don't need the fucking belts man. We need Oleg Maskaev being fed to Oliver McCall and we will be set. Why can't we just go back to the days when Ali got paid $1.5m to fight Wepner who in turn got $100,000. ? Who the fuck asked these Euros for their opinion? What part of WORLD CHAMPION dont they get. Europes not in the World. Name two countries in Europe? Huh? Huh? Austria and Greenland, thats what. They shoot horses and they used to make steel in Ohio and don't you ever forget it son. As I walk along I wonder...what went wrong....with our love.....it was fucking Vietnam. Fucking Vietnam man, fighting the wrong war man.

    STUPID

    FUCKING

    Is that how....what???

I scored the fight for Briggs...I mean.....the young American guy. I used the 10 point must system and the unified rules of the association of boxing commissioners.....I even weighed the gloves, fucking bullshit man.

Washed up man. Washed up Tito Trinidad. And Roy wasn't nearly as fast as he used to be but he was still faster than Joe Calzaghe, who got faster as he got older. In fact Joe might, right now, be as fast as Roy was the night Joe fought him.

Roy, as Max might say, got Schulled.
