Is what part of the reason?

Ken Loach directed that film- another White Shame merchant.

the fact that it takes place in Cork

some white shame is fully justified, particularly the English and Spanish varieties

I have no problem with someone making a film that counterbalances the idiotic apologist ramblings of the world's Ruth Dudley Edwards-types... fuck those people 1000000 times harder than Ken Loach

as you and I previously discussed, the film's major flaw that I can agree with you on is the rather jumpy and rushed transition from the War For INdependence and the Civil War (two topics that could easily make multi-hour films all by themselves)

My Grandfather is from Cork, but apart from that, I have neither interest in or link with the place.
