Two funny moments. Cyborg's wife. Female Cyborg wasn't watching when her husband took Diaz down and next thing she hears is people erupt and she looks up and is happy thinks her husband won and then looks around and realizes what happened and starts crying!

"I made my pregnant wife watch my fight "Shamrock
"Shows what kind of a guy you are" Milevich I think..
    AWKWARD Shamrock laugh......

That was really dumb by Cyborg to get that to the ground. Diaz' chin is out of this world. I thought Cyborg is a vicios striker. Anyways he was gassing so he woulda lost standing, too.

Anyone see who Diaz was mouthing 'fuck you bitch' to at cageside?....Think it may have been Chris Cyborg. He went back to the fence later before getting ushered away by his corner....obviously missing that, the commentary team then went into saying how much he has matured.

Good performance though...when it went to the floor there was only 30 seconds left in the round, he didn't hang about in getting Cyborg out of there. Really want to see Diaz-Daley.

Maybe. As I was watching it online i couldn't go back and try and figure out who it was.

Though I didn't see Miller introduced at any point as Strikeforce like to do, but then again I had the boxing on the tele at the same time.

If it was Chris Cyborg then it would have been unbelievable harsh though she was too busy :Steve-Dave/MMA:to probably even notice.

They act like MMA fans don't follow MMA Media. Nick Diaz has been involved in even bigger douchebaggery recently.

Did anyone else notice one of the commentators breathing really hard into the microphone during the entire card? I think it was the guy to the right of the main guy so not the main guy or Shamrock, but the other dopey looking one.

the point being made is you think everyone is going to kick Diaz's ass. Now you're hope is in Daley. While Daley has the power to do it, his ground game is 500 times worse than Cyborg's and you saw how easy Diaz tapped him out. Daley hasn't faced anyone even close to Diaz in the fact of being a complete well rounded MMA fighter.

Diaz deserves a ton of credit for that. Diaz has spent the majority of his time in recent fights standing and striking. He has been working diligently on his boxing and has improved dramatically. Yet when a BJJ black belt in Cyborg takes him down, Diaz has him tapping within seconds.

That's a well-rounded fighter. Diaz could literally pull guard against Daley and win easily in my opinion.

No doubt about it. Diaz won't though. If Diaz has a weakspot, its his ego. But its also what makes him the fighter he is. I have no doubt, Diaz believes he can beat Daley on their feet. Good thing for Daley, that is the ONLY chance he has in winning. Landing one of his big haymaker bombs. Diaz is tough though man, he eats shots and lands at such a high percentage for MMA its rediculous. I can see a situation with Diaz landing like 10 jabs in a row on Daley.

Daley doesn't throw haymakers first of all.

Second off, Daley has never been outstruck and it sure won't start with shitty Nick Diaz.

There are far more ways that Diaz can beat Daley than the other way around. Honestly, Daley has a punchers chance only.

Daley consistently has trouble making 170 so I doubt he'll have the endurance to go even 3 let alone 5 rounds with Diaz.

A punchers chance is it. Shields easily took Daley's arm home so I suspect Diaz can do it as well.

He's lazy, not dehydrated. He can make 170 without real issue.

Out-striking someone isn't a "puncher's chance". You seemed to be under this ridiculous impression that Daley is some Shane Carwin-esque brawler who charges in looking for one punch.

His Muy Thai is the quality rarely seen in MMA, he can beat Diaz in a number of ways on the feet. Whether it be outpointing Diaz, hitting him with a big left hook, chopping him down with leg kicks or hitting him with a big head kick.

That and your logic is so flawed it rattles my common sense sensors. Shields is a wrestler, Diaz is an awful wrestler. Shields has the best top game at 170 bar none, Diaz's top game is extremely underwhelming, if not just outright ineffective. Shields is a dominant positional grappler, Diaz's is awful positionally. Plus this easy nonsense is just that, did you even watch the fight? Daley gave him a good fight, it took Shields three tries to get the armbar, the first time Daley rolled him onto his back and got top position. Shields also got tired in that fight from being stuffed several times on shots.

Diaz has great subs that's about it, and the funny thing it is almost entirely from his back. Kimura, armbar, triangle choke, all of his expertise is on his back. He not only does not have the means to get a fight down, he largely does nothing with it once he gets top position and usually gives up position.

Dude, Shields won the first round clearly against Daley and then mounted him and snatched his arm on the FIRST attempt in the second round. If you call that a good fight, you are easy to please. Daley was completely out classed. The only reason he was even in the fight is because Shields got tired from shooting.

But it's not important. Shields has the worst stand up of any elite MMA fighter and he managed to avoid getting stopped by Daley. Diaz isn't Shields when it comes to wrestling OR striking. Diaz is a much more well-rounded fighter than Shields.

And if you think Daley can outpoint Diaz over 5 rounds, you have never watched either of them fight. It ain't happening.. If Daley doesn't land the KO shot, he isn't winning. Period.

With Nick's closed guard, Daley could easily lose this fight while Nick is on his back.

As I said, there are many ways Diaz can win this fight, but only one way Daley wins it. Punchers chance.

Daley could easily outpoint Diaz. Easily.

Also, so apparently stuffing someone's takedowns so much that they get tired is somehow bad for you, or some type of excuse? :scratcher:

Daley landed strikes, kicks, knees, elbows while on top. He gave Shields all types of problems. Shields won the first round but that doesn't mean he walked through Daley.

Being hit repeatedly + gassing =/= easy fight.

Seriously, you probably watch all Daley's fights with the attention span of a rodent just half-watching until someone hits the mat. It's like Im talking to Cecil Peoples.

Not a chance that Daley goes 5 rounds with Diaz. Not happening.

You can call it lazy or whatever, but it's a stuggle for Daley to hit 170. And Diaz has endless cardio. To think it wouldn't be a factor is just stupid.

The other thing that easily overlooked is the fact that Diaz would have a significant height and reach advantage. Daley is a small 5'9" while Diaz is a long 6' 1".

Nope, as I said, Daley could win this fight because he is a damn hard puncher. But that is his only chance.

Daley has almost no history of gassing. You are just talking out of your ass now. You can't just say fighters have no cardio just because you say so. Daley has gone 15 multiple times, even recently and has looked freshed throughout. Even the fight against Masvidal where he missed weight slightly.

Plus, Daley will kick Diaz....a lot.

Man you seriously need to stop letting your bias dictate how you think a fight will play out. You are really making some foolish statements. Daley is a very simple fighter whos only real shot at winning is a big shot. Diaz has so many ways to beat him is is ridiculous. You are blinding yourself kid.

The interesting thing about Diaz/Daley is that, like Shields, Diaz can tap Daley no problem. However, Diaz is content to stand with anyone. Cyborg was the one who initiated the grappling last time out, and Daley won't want any part of Diaz on the ground.

The way this fight plays out will be determined by how much respect Diaz has for Daley's stand-up. Will he look for a take down from the start, or will Daley have to beat him up first? Nick's take downs/TDD are also one of his worst attributes, in my opinion, so it will be interesting to see if Daley can keep himself upright when/if Diaz looks for a take down.

Another possibility is that this fight will stay standing, and Diaz will either get knocked out, or his chin and endurance will keep him in it and he'll simply outlast Daley. Diaz has a history of getting blasted and letting his chin pull him through a fight. Sooner or later that strategy will comeback to bite him, and his chin won't be able to take the incoming.

Well said. Diaz is absolutely in love with his improved stand up. I have zero doubt that he will try to prove his dominance in the striking department. He did it with Noons. He did it with Zaromskis. And I'm sure he'll do it with Daley.

And that's why I give Daley a pretty decent chance in this fight. Diaz has an amazing chin but Daley's punch is a different animal.

For sure. Diaz will look like a fool if he gets KO'd by Daley. He should stockpile the win with an easy submission, but his ego will get in the way of that.
