2 B CLEAR, Bradley was Well on his Way to DECISIVELY Beating Devon Alexander, w/OR w/Out Headbutts...& 2 Bradley's Credit, NONE of the Butts Appear to B INTENTIONAL...Nonetheless, they're Occurring More & MORE Frequently...

As of Now, Bradley's Made NO Effort to CURB or LESSEN the Cranium Collissions, but SHOULD He???...Should Ref's B on the Lookout for Headbutts in All Tim Bradley Fights???...Perhaps it's UNDESERVED, but Dude is ALREADY Building a Holyfield/Casamayor Type of HEADBUTTING Legacy...

Headbutts just seem to happen in boxing so frequently, regardless of the fighter. I wouldn't point the finger at Bradley.

Seems like every fight I watch these days someone gets butted.

 

he's an aggressive fighter and has a huge strong noggin. i dont think he intentionally butts, but really, he closes the gap without much concern and puts himself in a situation where headbutts likely occur.

 

One thing I would be wary of is, like Holding, or low blows, we dont want to see Bradley get an unfair reputation to the extent that everytime he bumps head with an opponent, it is regarded as blatant, or cheating, etc. Every low blow Golota threw after Bowe II was going to be regarded as deliberate. Every hug Wlad was involved in post Peter Part One, was going to be reacted on by fans commentators etc. In his very next fight, Byrd II, Lederman was all over the holding thing.

We dont want it that Bradley becomes "known" as a "butter" and finds his opponents deliberately initiating clinches and claiming they were butted.

The flipside of this is that we don't want to be afraid of analyzing the situation either. Holyfield has been smashing people with his head since the 1990's and never got called out by the powers-that-be for it. He left Rahman looking like a cancer patient when he was through with him.

So....we need to find a common ground.

I think Video Technology plays a role here. Guy has a problem with a butt, he tells the the ref, who runs the tape back in-between rounds.

 

He is also likely to be the shorter man.....and as such, he gets it on the top of the head, rather than the face or eyes or chin. So he kind of has less to worry about.

 

The last clash imo was even Alexander coming in at Bradley and then he acts like he was slit open intentionally by Bradley.

I haven't seen aynthing in that fight where you could say Bradley needed to be taken responsible for.

 

I give Timmy a pass. If I had to wake up next to what he has to wake up to, I'd wanna head butt people as well.

It was funny watching her and Gary Shaw back in the dressing room during the fight as if it was such an intense life and death type of fight. :laughing:

 

Anybody who can ignore Hopkins chronic illegal inflictions, or is an Anti-drug testing Pacquiao protectionist,.. oughta feel a little bit silly about stopping Bradley's headbutts and cleaning up the sport in general. :blackcloud:

I think Bradley needs to start being held accountable for the head butts. They happen in every single one of his fights. I'd say he is more along the lines of Holyfield than Cassamayor though. Cassamayor seemed to be much more intentional with the head butts whereas Holyfield and Bradley seem to just stick it out there maybe figuring a clash will happen, but not forcing it. Either way, after the 2nd or at the very least 3rd head butt, a point should be taken. He makes no effort to curb it.

 

Timmy is a pressure fighter who is short and fights with his head down. It's actually part of his defense and offense.

Is it legal? I really don't know. Like Holyfield he's only getting hit on the top of his own head, so he doesn't really care either way whether he gets head-butted or not, which makes him more confident in his style............and his opponent more leery of getting butted.

Only way the butts would stop is if you forced him to fight in a more straight up style. I'm not sure that's a solution but it would make him much more beatable to his opponents.

I'd really like to see Bradley fight Maidana to see how those two would deal with each other. Maidana, as slow as he sometimes seems, is good at making adjustments and cutting off the ring as the fight wears on.

Wonder if he would step back and try and catch Timmy with some upper-cuts, once he realized Bradley can't really hurt him with his hooks.

 

Bradley knows what he's doing...no doubt about it. A well timed uppercut will stop the headbutts.

 

Fighters are supposed to 'watch their heads'. That means, if a fighter has a style which causes butting, then he must change his style and if he does not, the ref has to step up. It is obvious Bradley uses butting to his advantage
