    Sebastian Zbik. :giggle:

Zbik is a talentless combination of Sven Ottke and John Ruiz. That fight will make Chavez look like a legit superstar or ruin network boxing forever.

Don't ever do that again. Don't ever put Ottkes name in the same sentence as the Quit Man Louise.

Ottke was a boring sod but he was never ever talentless.

Top Rank is smart: that's why they'd bet on Cintron who hits like a mule, is a great boxer, has only lost to illegally wrapped Margarito and due to some strange shit with Williams.

TR is smarter than GBP. This will become more and more unquestionable as time goes by.

Cintron is far from a great boxer. Is this a joke? Anyway he has improved under shields and would pick Cintron to ko Chavez Jr if it was ever made.

Cintron can box. It's what he does for a living. And he's been featured on television several times because he does it in an entertaining fashion.

    Cintron would defeat:

    Berto
    Angulo (did so already)
    Chavez Jr.
    Mosley
    Margarito (without illegal hand-wraps)

    Give the guy some credit.

I honestly thought that boxing was never going to be on network tv again in my lifetime, so I hope that this is true.

I a agree he would beat,

    1. Angulo

    2. Chavez Jr.

    3. Williams ( I have no doubt Cintron was gonna ko him. If the rematch ever happens, I'm sure Cintron will end Williams career via ko!

    4. Berto

I disagree on Mosley and Margarito.

This is pretty nice of Arum, the guy is such a saint.

He could have easily put this on PPV for 80 dollars (90 in HD) but he only has the fans in mind.

    I'm guessing MidEast means Dubai.

I think Zbik is quite capable, but he is a tricky fighter who isn't a great watch. AFAIK, the only time he has appeared on USA television is the replay of one of the Spada fights and maybe the delarosa fight. Those are replayed sporadically on some of the Foxsports channels, but they are easy enough to miss if you aren't looking for them. And even if you found them, they won't make you itch to see him fight again.

So that means it is mostly on Chavez Jr to sell the show and Zbik only brings in the wbc interim belt. They should make it against Yuri Foreman for whatever belt. Then you have two names and it's still a winnable fight for JCC JR.

Well, given the fighters you'd predict him to beat, I'm hard-pressed to see why you wouldn't consider him a good boxer (getting back to the original point).

Fact is, Cintron is in Golota land, with his quality very much in question. My guess is he will prove all of those wrong who think he's crap.

    We can only hope.

I personally think all fights should be held in Dubai............or at least rumored to be held in Dubai.

Is this what the networks were waiting for to jump back into the game?

Two sub-par fighters and a completely inconvenient location to set up your coverage from?

They tease us every decade or so.

Didn't Castillo and Stevie Johnston fight on network TV for their first fight?

Yeah i know, Arum has talked about it for a while now but always crawled back to HBO on his knees. He obviously needed HBO to light a fire under his ass to try and make a deal.

Is that Mosley off the juice?

Cintrons chief disability is that he is not a fighter, in his heart and mind. Thats pretty much fatal to begin with, but his lack of handspeed and fluidity means he cannot even get into the fights to begin with. If he did this, he might get more confidence. He just isn't into fighting.

I think Chavez Jr. could do some numbers on CBS, although the ratings would likely vary substantially depending on the region....he could probably do some ratings in LA, and in other parts of the Southwest, and maybe some cities like Chicago. Not sure how the numbers would look in the Northeast.

Regarding the location...I don't know if the time would necessarily be inconvenient, if they're looking for an afternoon broadcast.

I doubt CBS would want to jump in with both feet on doing a prime time Saturday night boxing broadcast with a fighter like Chavez jr.

Well Irishman, maybe he has a conscientious objection, the way aaaaaaaaaaaaall other fighters do, especially 'the clock without hands' Bernard Hopkins. When money is at stake, promoters, fighters, the commission, it's all heart brother, no one likes a whistle blower.

here are some network tv fights. Not sure how accurate i am:

    nurhan suleymanoglu archak ter-meliksetian
    juan diaz martin o'malley

and i'm sick of doing this so i'm stopping....but I think network tv gets more credit than it deserves...it's not that fights should be on network tv, it's really that network tv should regularly show fights and not expect a miracle from having a couple of shows in a row. you either need a wide world of sports format where you are watching boxing one weekend and log throwing the next or you need a commitment to "summer boxing series where we'll treat you to fights over the next 10 weekends in a row all over the world"
