So you think a better outcome would be for Khan to never fight Madaina again, and instead, pretend like he beat him decisively?

My question is, what fight could Khan be involved in that would be more commercially viable at this point than to take on Madaina again? It was a great fight ! The fans loved it. It was what boxing (for fans) is all about. The fact he's dead set against it, despite its commercial appeal, demonstrates that he's not so sure he can win enough early rounds next time around.

What's your fucking point? And all the others? Because Khan fought a guy everyone said he wouldn't, that all of the sudden we shouldn't have an opinion on who he fights next? Get real and fuck you Steve Dave, you bastard.

I'm no Khoward fan but he won the fight fairly clearly. Granted, he flat out ran the last three rounds but he had enough of a lead he wasn't going to lose the fight.

if there'd been a great back and forth battle then yes...would be cause for an immediate rematch. It wasn't that kind of a fight.

Furthermore, the next fight on his calendar should be the Bradley fight...let those guys fight to determine who is the best in an average division. There's no point in fighting lightweights at this juncture.

If it's just 'Khan' announcing it, be sure it'll be a joke of an opponent. Prescott at best.

Can't wait to see Bradley beat Khan's ass :crafty:

Knowing it isn't Bradley (HBO wants that for summer) I'm hoping it's Prescott.

Yep. Whether or not Prescott sucks, there's more than enough back story to make it enjoyable.

WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan’s management team made contact over the weekend with the handlers former WBC champion Junior Witter and sounded out if Witter would be interested in fighting Amir on April 16th. “My manager John Ingle spoke to me about the Khan offer. I’m up for this 100 percent,” said Witter. It would be an opportunity too good to turn down fighting for a world title again. I’m fighting on the 19th February in Canada at welterweight for the first time and I’m on the weight now at 147 lbs which is usually what I weigh 3 weeks before making the 140 lb limit, so I don’t see any problems doing it again. Training has been perfect and sparring the likes of Kell Brook has sharpened my skills. Khan, you have never boxed anyone with my experience, calibre and credentials so if you want to start playing with fire be careful you might get burnt.”

Isn't Witter fighting on the 19th of this month tho? If he agrees to face Khan, will he pull out of this month's fight?

It could be one of many things, you do have to ask yourself who broke the news to Fightnews.com that Khan was looking for Witter. We know who told Witter and we know who told Witters people, but who told fightnews- Witter or Khans people? This could be more resume by proxy nonsense. Sound out Witter, then drop it. Sound out Brook, then drop it. Who knows.

why is Brook's name mentioned. he's a welterweight and with Frank Warren. Khoward needs a lightweight or washed up junior welter.

    Prescott wouldn't be a bad fight...redemption wise.

This is not how to defeat steve_dave. Show him his penny-ante academia and his college ways are useless- show him his cloistered, cosseted existence is worthless when it comes to the real world, and steve_will march off in a huff to leaf through his Political Correct archives in due course.

steve_dave and his acolytes exist merely to "expose" and "punish" what they regard as wrong-doers.

Slap him around the ears and send him back to whatever campus spawned him. Copy-and-Paste baboons like him will fold in due course.

I am sure he is a stand up guy, but he has a righteous streak. Ill iron it out of him by-and-by. :crafty:

You forgot to mention that Brook brings black inner city slickness. Not the American variant, mind you, but enough to defeat Khan. It has been proven. Yes it has. Yes it has.:Thumbs:

Maybe not yet, but Khan v Brook at 147 would be a great fight and one for the near future. Khan says he wants to fight the best at 140 first, so he should concentrate on that and as far as a match-up against Witter is concerned next, that's one I don't want to see. Pointless fight to take. Much rather see Khan face Prescott next tbh.

There are a tonne of "no wins" in the Witter fight, so even though Witter is a decent fighter with some angles, it would be better if Khan avoided it. Prescott, as steve_dave was pointing out, is a shitty fight pugilistically but with more bells and whistles attached thanks to the background.

Ideally, Khan would fight Witter, beat him, build up to Prescott, then finish on Bradley or Alexander, and if he cant get that, then RE. Maidana and then hope that in the interim Brook has picked up a title at 147.

Being perfectly honest with you, and I am no Witter fan, a prime version of Witter is better than Alexander, at least from what I saw on Saturday night.

Junior Witter once went 12 rounds with Zab Judah on like 2 days notice or something, back in 2000 or whenever Mike Tyson was doing his rounds in the UK.

Witter was more than competent and could see out dangerous opponents with a minimum of fuss, which is not surprising given Witters status as an Ingle fighter.

It should be borne in mind that Witter did give Bradley a better fight than Alexander did, when it is all said and done.

I wouldn't give Witter much credit for the Bradley fight, and he was completely shot and old when he faced Alexander...to his credit though, Witter at least deserved a draw, but got the W, against Kotelnik, while Alexander IMO clearly deserved a loss against an older Kotelnik. I'd give Witter at his sharpest the edge over the best Alexander we've seen to date

According to Khan's twitter page, 1) Prescott hasn't called him out for a re-match and 2) He's not ready to fight Brook yet, but when he does move up to 147, he'll face him and beat him.

Going back to a possible Witter fight, I haven't seen Witter since he lost to Bradley and can safely say, against Khan, it will not be competitive at all.

    Khan: McCloskey fight is on

WBA super lightweight champion Amir Khan has announced that he has reached an agreement to fight undefeated European champion Paul McCloskey at the Manchester Evening News Arena on April 16th. “I am delighted that this fight has finally been put together following some tough negotiations,â€￾ stated Khan on his website. “This is a matchup the British public want to see and will be a fantastic fight between two of the best light-welterweights in the country.â€￾ Khan will leave for his US training camp on February 9th following press conferences in Manchester and Belfast.

Khan should wanna fight Prescott to avenge and all but I think he realizes that he wouldn't get too much credit if he beats him, plus should he lose again..... Yeah not a good idea. I say, let Prescott get a couple of decent wins first.

Don't know shit about McCloskey but Khan did have a tough fight against Maidana and took alot of punishment. And if he's seriously planning on facing Bradley in July, then a tune up fight like this were he can have it easy would not be a bad idea.

My objection to this fight is a suspended sentence. If it's just a run-through busy fight for Bradley in July, no problemo.

That's all it is, a tune up before Bradley. No one needs to get their knickers in a twist.
