Segal doesnt do kicks. If he practiced it on segal fine, but segal didnt teach it to him. That kick is the first kick they ever teach you in ANY martial arts class. With probably the exception of Akido.
Yep... And watching Jon Jones manhandle Bader was well worth the time. Jones is a phenom and I honestly don't see anyone beating him. He was so much bigger and stronger than Bader. Rua is a great champion, but I gotta think Jones will be too much for him.
Did you see how that kick jacked Belfort's jaw? Chuvalo would have gone to sleep. That stoppage had nothing to do Belfort's chin.
Bader really has some bad takedowns for the college pedigree he has. Not only in this fight, but his last couple.
i saw it. and i was surprised it did that type of damage. credit to silva for landing a kick straight up the middle on this guy but it didnt appear to be a tremendous shot
Actually, the front snap kick is a staple of Aikido strikes. I am not an expert but I have watched Aikido classes and they definitely drill front snap kicks.
Id kill you son. On the court and in the street. You live in cali right? come to Venise tomorrow. I wll be there playing ball. I will have my yankees headband.
Hah! Dana said their skipping Okami and going to Silva-GSP if GSP beats Shields. First time I'll ever root for GSP ever.
Oh so you are the only one that can tell jokes huh? They drill front snap kicks in ALL martial arts classes man. Its literally the first kick they teach you.
What? Your either purposefully being a douche or you're blind. I was watching the fight with a group of 7 dudes that watch MMA all the time. And there was a collective "Holy shit" when that kicked snapped back Belfort's head. It really doesn't matter. It was a highlight reel KO and has already got the web buzzing.
"Venise" huh? :: i will be watching the super bowl tomorrow instead of hooping with trucks at the beach
superbowl isnt starting until 3. Come on down. Venice wont be ridiculously packed so you might get to play. But at 5 foot six inches you better hope you get picked up.
You miss the point. In Aikido they really don't drill many other kicks. You don't see side kicks. You don't see roundhouse kicks. That being said, I doubt Seagal has ever been able to reach anyone's chin with a front kick.
I have to admit, he looked lanky as shit at the weigh in, and at 205 he is lanky, BUT he looked huge next to Bader tonight. His strength and leverage advantage killed Bader and shocked me. Hell, I've been on the Jones bandwagon for a long time now, but I really thought Bader would have better luck controlling Jones in the grappling. There is literally nothing Jones doesn't do well.
Maybe if he threw some, he might, but in all of his demonstrations, i havent seen many, if any. The front kick in Akido is all about distracting the opponent in order to trap them somehow. TKD has better Snap kicks. But i see what you are saying.
Bader couldn't get close enough to get a decent shot at Jones to be honest. Bader's shots were from way too far out, so Jones was able to defend them easily. A faster man might be able to get him down. But right now the only man even seemingly capable is Phil Davis.
don't sweat the technique. TLC can't pick a fight to save his life. Just remember, he said Franklin would destroy Griffin:atu: But seriously, Jones is the Truth(much love to my homey BTG for biting his line). He has so much athleticism in all aspects of the game. He made Bader's wrestling look average tonight. Honestly, I think Bader's wrestling would give Rua fits. As well as most 205'ers minus Rashad. Jones is a different animal.
