UFC taking no chances with Silva… Thiago Silva is out of UFC 130 and Matt Hamill is in. Sources close to the UFC say that Silva has been pulled from his planned bout with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and replaced with Hamill. Verbal agreements in place, with bout agreements expected to be finalized shortly. Hamill had been tentatively planned to face Phil Davis at UFC 129 event, but that will have to be changed. Silva's status is unknown after his drug test for UFC 125 was announced as under investigation.
Too bad Hamill is off the T.O card !! I was going to yell insults at him from the nose bleed section! Oh well he probably wouldn't hear them anyway
Not sure if this is slight at his disability or simply stating that it's unlikely he could hear them from such a distance.
I just don't think Hamil is really in the title picture. I would have rather seen a little more relavent replacement. I like Hamil, just don't really get the matchup.
I read we were going to get Rampage-Rashad II.... Man I hope that happens rather than watching Rampage beat up a deaf guy. Honestly, Matt Hamill was fun for a little while. The whole underdog deaf dude spin was cool, but now it's just old. And he has no business getting a fight near the top of the division.
I don't think Rampage is shot I think Rampage doesn't care anymore. He just shows up to get paid and to further gain more exposure that down the road will help him with his real current goal the movie career.
i'd rather see rampage vs evans II. it will be interesting to see how evans will react to inactivity now that roles have been reversed.
