You do realize that Fedor's face was absolutely jacked up because of Silva's 'sloppy' hands, right?

I will admit that I am always hesitant to blame losses on guys being unmotivated or past their primes. And it's the same with Fedor.

And it's doubly tough for me with Fedor because Werdum and Silva are the really the only live bodies, legitimate MMA fighters he's faced since probably Cro Cop in 2005. And even that's being generous.

fedor's face was all bruised up even after getting briefly hit by hong man choi and that was a few years ago.

i do credit silva for what he did though. unlike Giant Silva and Hong Man Choi, he's actually the best gigantic guy who knows how to effectively strike and grapple despite his awkward size and lack of speed.

w/o those skills, he wouldnt have been able to sustain a full mount and make those surprising submission attempts. shit, at the end of the 2nd round, he even made an attempt for an ankle/foot lock.

Yes i do realize his face was busted, but his face gets busted easy, And that fucked up eyes was the result of actually 1 good punch that landed there. Yes Silva landed other punches, but that one punch messed his eye up. Despte that, he was missing a whole lot and Fedor was actually defending quite well. Better than most in that position. I was shocked the fight was stopped.

i think silva would've won regardless. silva's not some robotic giant. he actually has skills for a guy his size. IF fedor's was able to get him to the ground, i'm not sure he could've kept him down since he's usually not the lay and pray type of fighter. a bjj expert like werdum might be able to sustain it, but that's basically all he knows how to do.

i dont think fedor was able to inflict much damage when he threw his trademark overhands and combinations in the first round. he also looked winded after that second round.

Silva looked much more gassed than fedor.

but silva could've taken fedor down the next round and just sit on him for 5 minutes.

He had a hard time taking him down when he wasnt tired. He also stuggled to get mount. It wouldnt have been so easy.

he took him down in the first few seconds of the second round and kept him there through out the entire round.

not sure if there has ever been a case where a guy has the other guy in a full mount for minutes unless he finishes him there. actually, aldo was able to do it against faber, but that's about the only fight i can think of.

i was surprised the fight was stopped also. unless fedor verbally checked out in russian in between rounds, i thought they should have let it continue and just be quick on the trigger in round 3 if fedor got taken down and pummelled again. i feel like champions deserve this. also it's not like fedor hasn't been busted up and come back to win before in the cage/mma ring.

The part about that which is impressive though is that he beat them at their own games. And they were the best in the game at their respective discipline.

I wasn't shocked at all that they stopped the fight. Honestly, I am a big fan of guys continuing through injury and adversity, but I don't think anyone should have agreed to let him go out with this:

    Are you kidding?

I've seen guys struggle to get the mount before, but this wasn't one of those times. I would call it almost 'easy'.

I'll give Fedor credit for fighting off the choke, avoiding many punches while mounted and continuing to move to get free when mounted. But I won't give him any credit for making it difficult to pass his guard. It just wasn't.

Damn GF, you're a hardcore son of a gun.

If that's MY fighter and I'm in his corner, it would tough for me to send him back out there unless he was begging me.

And, according to reports, Fedor said in the corner that he couldn't see out of that eye. I think it has to be stopped at that point.

Fuck that shit. This is Fedor goddamit. If Anyone can fight in that shit, he can. Thats a bullshit stoppage IMO. Before you posted that picture i thought he eye was worse. Seeing that picture makes me even more upset. Thats some bullshit right there. I have seen boxers with worse injuries go on.

But you know as well as I do when the fighter say he can't see, the doctor will always stop it. He can't let it go at that point.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I wanted to see round 3. Fedor survived being mounted and pounded for almost 3 minutes. I wanted him to see how the next round went. And I think they were equally tired which to me favors Fedor because of his history.

    Oh well.

No Way in Hell was Fedor "Overrated"...To Do what he Did in MMA is Basically UNfuckingPRECEDENTED...w/Out Question, he's the Most CONSISTENTLY DOMINANT MMAist Ever...

To REED, he's Roy Jones, Basically...& just like Roy, the Moment that Cloack of Invincibility was RIPPED Off of him, Fedor was LESS Confident...In Backwoods, Texas Terms, Fedor Went from SUGAR to SHIT...PENTHOUSE to the OUTHOUSE, Virtually OVERNIGHT...

NONE of Us can Imagine the Level of Sheer CONFIDENCE it Takes to CONSISTENTLY DOMINATE Every Man Placed in Front of U & As Such, LOSING a Fight is Virtually IMPOSSIBLE to Recover From...Fedor SAID All the Right Things, but there's No Way that he COULDN'T have Believed his Own Hype...He DESERVED to B Arrogant & PRESUME that Winning was a Foregone Conclusion...

Yeah...all the fights he didn't dominate.

Like Brett Rogers, Mark Hunt, Kazuyuki Fujita, Cro Cop, Nog, Ricardo Arona, etc?

Uh oh....The clown is back. Rogers KTFO, Hunt submitted, Fujita got the shit beat out of him then submitted, Crocop got his ass kicked the whole fight, Nog got pounded on for the whole fight. Man this is not even debatable. You make yourself look like a fool every time you post. If you wanna talk being dominated lets talk about your boyfriends Overeem or Aoki. Now THATS being dominated...:atu:

Don't bother with him, Braski:nono:. This is the same guy that called Fedor "the greatest natural athlete of his era" yesterday. Debating, discussing and arguing with TLC is the most futile and pointless exercise you will ever waste your time bothering with. He will flip-flop, change the topic, use illogical reasoning, create ideas that 99.9% of the world disagrees with (Dan Henderson not being an elite wrestler is one of his newest retarded gems:laughing:), and will then reply to YOUR logic with pansy little 4th grade comments like "go ask Ben Askren" (or some such bullshit he wrote the other day). The fact is this: TLC has spent his entire adolescence in relative obscurity behind a computer screen criticizing and critiquing something he's never done nor will ever attempt to do - train, much less fight. In fact the only fight he's ever been in is when Mommy threw a transformer at him for talking back just a couple of years ago. He doesn't appreciate the accomplishments of any of these guys and his mission is to stir the pot and piss people off. Ignore him....as hard as it is. Just ignore him:kidcool:

Lol. Wow!! 5 of those 6 are examples of complete domination. You come up with some crazy shut sometimes.
