You cant change the meaning of words. Most means most. there is no interpretation needed. I just find it strange you make a statement like most UFC fans dont bash the UFC. Yet watched the fight with UFC fans that bashed the Event. You are a walking contradiction. Most bash, yet the room of guys you were with ALL agreed that the event was boring? By your logic, at least two of them would have ejoyed the event.
Don't hold your breath, especially not if that is the best you could come up with. Instead of responding to me you avoid my last post. Good job spindoctor.
I am just fine, your post clearly wasn't really to me. It was just you talking about you perceived the past between us. You didn't really adress the fact that my original post was written as an opinion. Instead you wanted to try to trash me, good for you.
Missed your first response only saw the second 1 which was just trying to bash me. As for agreeing to disagree yeah I think so. "Most" can mean a wide range anywhere from a little over 50 precent to slightly under 100 percent. Oh and as for the people at my house nobody enjoyed the event. You had about 8 bored people and me. I don't really get bored because you never know when something might happen. However in this event it wasn't real good when I look back on it.
It was a pretty shitty event. The silva ko was cool, but still, it's the only thing that hapenned in the fight. Bader-Jones was interesting but boring. the rest was garbage. Funny that some people always defend UFC card. Rogan has made a good job of washing theyr minds and convinciong them that if they find a fight boring, it's cause they're not hardcore enough and don't know and appreciate all the arts involved in MMA
When all else fails, ignore what I wrote. :bears: Trplsec says something. I prove him wrong. Trplsec changes subject. Repeat.
I honestly thought, the Bader/Jones fight was extremely entertaining. Seeing Jones get takedowns on a true wrestling badass blew my mind. His top control on that same wrestling badass was incredible. I know what you mean about Rogan, and actually I feel the exact same about him. But I would say MMA has so many different facets, fans are going to disagree about a fight being boring purely on their background and what style of fight they like. I also loved the Ellenburger fight. Its all good though, I know you usually dig the K-1 bouts along with Azazael, I find most of them very boring with an exceptional few. To each their own I guess.opcorn:
Change the subject? Silva-Belfort was compared to Pac-Shane. Tell me how the fact that Mosley drew with Mora isn't part of the same topic. Don't dodge the question. You do realize that Shane is ancient and couldn't muster more than a draw with Sergio Mora and now he gets a shot at boxing's # 1 P4P fighter, right? And in comparison, Belfort got a shot at Silva after 5 straight wins including 4 stoppages. As I said, I wasn't a fan of Belfort getting a title shot but to claim this happens only MMA is just as ridiculous as all of your other lame attempts to slam the sport. Steve_Dave didn't like the UFC 126 match ups. Holy shit, stop the presses. :atu:
Agree. Going to Montreal has done wonders for transforming Torres into a GSP level boring fighter. Yippee...
Do you have a learning disability, Trplsec? I'll respond to your post, point by point, using nothing but my previous posts in this thread. I HATE Mosley/Pacquaio. Pacquaio/Mosley has been almost universaly slammed and rightfully so. Belfort, on the other hand, was never good. His peak was what? 10 years ago? And back then he was a heartless loser vs. the best. Boxers take easy title defences ALL THE TIME, and they catch a lot of heat for that from fans. I'm going to dumb this down for you one more time. This is actually what happened in this thread, but I'm sure you'll find one sentence you don't like an run with it, rather than giving a good, honest response. steve_dave - Belfort shouldn't be challenging for the title. Why aren't you guys mad? Trplsec - So? That's not as bad as Mosley getting a shot at Pacquiao. steve_dave - I hate the fact that Mosley is fighting Pacquaio and I've been very critical of that fight. Still, Belfort was never good, and as recently as a year ago Mosley was rated by most as the top welter. Trplsec - What? Who rated Mosley #1 last year? steve_dave - Pretty much everyone. Why are we talking about Mosley/Pacquaio, I agree, it's garbage. Trplsec - He drew with Mora. You act as if this only happens in MMA. steve_dave - No, I've been saying for a few pages now that it happens in boxing all the time. And we slam the hell out of boxing when it happens. I don't see the same critical thinking when it comes to cage fighting, and that's disappoints me. What's the matter with you? Why bother responding to my posts if you aren't going to bother reading them?
the Cerrone sub was sweet. I loved how he used the leverage to get pull his arm through for the choke
I agree with you on this, still, I expected it to be a bit more competitive, it was soo one sided I can't say it was entertaining. saying it was boring is maybe a bit extreme on my part tough. For RJJp4p, the 2 walkin fights were atrocious, If i was Dana white I would give Torres one more chance, and if he bore the place out again, I would release him. won't be that big of a lost, he's not that good of a fighter. And ellenberger is the king of fighter I have no interest seeing fight, If you count the undercard, there was some good fight (especially the cerrone one, and omigawa vs mended was alright)
I can't disagree with this at all. Not a fan of Ellenburger, just glad to see him get the win over that BJJ deuche. No other skill than BJJ, that guy is the king of fighter I have no interest in seeing fight. This isn't a BJJ grappling tourney, its MMA.:Ramonza:
Trpl, why on earth did you compare Pacquiao V Oscar to Silva V Belfort? You realize that Oscar was a big favourite to win right? And that Pacquiao beating the FUCK out of the much larger Oscar was considered a huge upset right? Everyone and their nephew knew Vitor wouldn't make it out of the first round and had pretty much no chance of winning. The 2 fights aren't remotely comparable.
My humiliation of Trplsec in this thread, to the point where he actually refused to reply, will be historicaly underrated because so few read this forum. Too bad.
Are you serious? You came into this thread slamming an MMA event for not being worthy of PPV when you didn't even watch it. How is that the least bit humiliating? Honestly dude, the only thing remotely humiliating is how desperately you continue to come into the MMA section trying to diminish it. It's sad. Most MMA fans loved watching Silva deliver a highlight reel KO kick on Belfort. And man, that really bothers you. Don't fret dude, maybe Cotto/Mayorga or Pac/Shane will get boxing back on it's feet. :goingmad:
