well, for openers, that is the time and the place to be gassed, the end. He looks overly muscled to me. In some of the pics he looks like a MW, not a WW.
Well at least he doesn't gas too soon. That said he appears to be more physique than talent. He will pick up a title I am sure of it but I do agree in that I see late-round TKO's {L} on his resume down the line.
I like Jones. He's a good fighter, though admittedly nothing special. I'd say he's a poor man's Vernon Forrest. He's got a bright future though, cause take away Manny and Floyd and theres no special fighters from 147-154. I'd make Jones a live underdog to beat Berto. A Jones-Alvarez matchup sounds interesting to me in about a year.
Pretty soon I think Alvarez would probably KO Berto. Canelo is pretty damn hittable, and a bit slow on his feet.... but I have little faith in Berto taking Canelo's punch.
There were some things that I did like from Jones like workrate, movement, and a good jab. However, I was a little disturbed that he couldn't put that slow little plodder away. My God, he could hit hit melon at will.
I don't see what's special about Mike Jones. He beat Soto Better than last time but I could care less about either guy. Neither guy makes me want to see them against bigger competition.
I'm not so sure he doesn't have one. I think he was trying to fight without one on purpose last night... he certainly looked like he had one when he blew his load on their first fight. Still, there's no excuse for not getting Soto-Karass outta there last night.
Its an interesting fight. Canelo has yet to fight anybody with any quickness, let alone the speed Berto has. But Berto has yet to be hit by anyone as powerful as Canelo.
If they fought each other next, I would too. Saying that, I still don't know Berto would fight him. :: I like Alvarez, he's got entertaining style...but the kid's 20.
I didnt watch this fight but I did see the first match. Soto K showed a good chin in the first fight. Was he ready to go in this one?
Alvarez, for a guy who gets hit as much as he does doesn't really take a great punch either. Cotto had him in trouble early and got his respect quite a bit. I'd pick Berto to KO Alvarez, although Berto could get KO'ed as well.
