eh. I like Alvarez. I think he has potential, if he can fight the right weight class.

Mora should be banned from boxing for letting Montiel continue.

Donaire is high up on the P4P list, no doubt. He is badass.

I think he's ok, but my opinion would change drastically if here were to be troubled much by Hatton, which is why this fight is rubbish..

You barely read General Discussion, but on Friday afternoons you search the net for illegal streams of Matthew Hatton fights? :Lok:

My initial thought was he shouldn't have let Montiel continue.

Watch the replay...Mora didn't see Montiel flailing...he (rightfully so) moved to force Donaire to a neutral corner to prevent Donaire from throwing another shot. When he turned around Montiel was already trying to get up.

he saw Montiel was hurt but didn't see the worst of it.

Ref did a shitty job. He told Montiel to "come here, come here", despite Montiel just standing there with a glazed look he let the fight continue. Since when do you not respond to the ref and still be allowed to continue?

It's not just you, he's garbage. This is a gimme fight for Alvarez.

Forget the twitch. He saw Montiel get up and fall again. Then, when he asked Montiel to come to him, Montiel just stood there looking dazed. And he STILL let the fight continue.

Because he is garbage, and if he was to beat a top prospect like Alverez, that would be significant. Im not saying that Hatton goes onto to be something special, but Alvarez's career would be in serious question. I have high hopes for Alvarez and would hate to see him lose to a bum like Hatton. Does this seriously need to be explained?

Thats easy to say, but im right here. Much like another person here, when someone disagrees with you, they arent knowlegeable. You cant have a discussion with someone that disagrees with you, without attacking them. It doesnt phase me however.

i think there are several dullards on this forum and many more people who know about boxing with respectable opinions. i hadnt really paid you much attention until the past few months but i have determined that you fall into the former category.

The 2nd KD of the 12th round of the Vargas - Tito fight comes into mind...but I agree with you...horrible decision on both fights.

I'm an amateur based on my post count. You're an amateur based on the fact that you're yet another moron from Europe who thinks that any fighter who picks up a Commonwealth title is world-class.

Matthew Hatton went life and death to earn a draw with an underprepared Lovemore N'dou, Alvarez shut out the same N'dou 12-0. Really, to think that Hatton is being brought in as anything but a stepping-stone is beyond delusional. If Alvarez were to lose, it would be a Khan-Prescott sort of moment (in terms of the level of the upset - Hatton has 0 pop, so he obviously wouldn't be able to replicate the KO scenario).

On a semi-related note, after this fight, Alvarez will have beaten Matthew Hatton and Jose Miguel Cotto.. who's next, Bobby Pac?

JCC jr & Ronnie Hearns? If Pac's the Mexican killer Alvarez could carve a nice niche as the 'Nepotist killer' .
