I think Daley is dead on. Diaz shouldn't stand toe-to-toe with the British slugger but he probably will.

If Diaz has any real interest in pro boxing then he should.

Unfortunately that's probably the same thing Diaz is thinking. Nick and his brother have great chins, but Daley is a different animal. He doesn't need to box with Daley, but something tells me he will.

Most people said the same thing before with Robbie Lawler. Of course Daley has much better stand up than Lawler.

If he does fancy himself as a pro boxer, he should be able to shut Daley out with ease, just like any actual solid pro boxer would.

I think Diaz wins to be honest. The guy just knows how to fight.

In a boxing ring under boxing rules sure. But don't forget, Daley's stand up in MMA comes with kicks and he is a very good Muay Thai fighter. Much different than just boxing.

That being said, Nick DOES NOT have the boxing of even an average pro boxer. Then again, most average pro boxers probably don't have near the BJJ skills of Diaz either.

I'm right there with you. People just continue to under rate Nick's striking. His punches seem slow and powerless yet somehow he manages to land AND hurt guys.

It wouldn't shock me at all if he beats Daley standing. I don't think it's his best shot at winning but he can still win.

I agree with you, but its a horrible idea for Diaz. If Daley stuns him, it won't be like Cyborg. Daley will attack like a crazed animal. Daley is a deadly finisher. And one punch is all Daley needs. Nick could make such easy work of this just by getting him down and subbing him out.

Man, Nick is SO good off his back that pulling guard isn't a bad idea. I doubt Daley could keep him down if Nick wanted to get back up anyway.

Daley would probably choose to stand up anyway

Ummm. You do realize that guys can't just CHOOSE to stand up right?

I'm not saying Daley couldn't get back to his feet but it wouldn't be as easy as choosing to.

I think RJJ was referring to the post above where you said you didn't think Daley could hold Diaz down if Diaz wanted to go back to standing. I am pretty sure Daley wouldn't try to hold him down either.
