Is what this ppv should be called, because you'd better be a business magnate or a hotel heiress to justify spending any money to watch this.... http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/clash-of-the-titans-3-75912 (suggested price is $25) Great thing is, you can buy this and then spend another $50 the next night on Cotto-Mayorga.
Showtime and HBO force a lot of cards to PPV, there is nowhere else to go if those two networks won't pick up the fight which results in a lot of mediocre PPV cards. I wish there was a major network that was willing to air live fights. Or at least a Tuesday night fights on a network like Spike or something similar.
Surprised to see Casamayor is still going. Now that is one old dog, turning forty this year. Was a very capable fighter in his day (I was gobsmacked when he lost to Freitas, thought he'd school him well), & had some entertaining clashes (Castillo, Corrales I & III, Katsidis), despite a reputation for being at-times boring, & of course unrepentantly dirty. Has completely fallen off the radar since losing his title two years ago. How much longer can he tour the obscure circuit, you wonder...
Who did you score the fight for? Casa gave a good account of himself in that one, despite the referees best efforts.
Yeah, but look at the fights that are going this route. Can you really blame ESPN2, Fox, Telefutura, etc. for not wanting to waste a license fee on either of those fights? There is no upside whatsoever to a single fighter on that card, with the exception of Anchondo barely still serving as a somewhat decent steppingstone.
