Leonard steals enough rounds with shoe shinning in the last 30 seconds to impress the judges and wins by close conterversial ud.
Leonard by close (but undoubted) decision. Good fight, but Ray's fast hands and busier style make the difference here
Some of the takes in this thread surprise me. Leonard was far too intelligent in the ring to lose to a one-handed fighter whose entire strategy consists of covering up and jabbing. I'd take Leonard by wide decision.
I can't imagine that anyone who's seen Vargas-Wright would waver on their pick for a second. It'd be competitive, but Leonard would win clear. His punch variety would carry the day here. 10-5 typea thingmy.
Leonard very clearly, its not really a close fight... it's not an exciting ass-kicking or anything but it's comprehensively in SRL's favor... 10-5 in a 15, 9-3 in a 12
I agree. Winky is one of the few modern fighters that could have gone 15 rounds due to his economical and relaxed, defensive style of fighting.
They fight like that right now and they are gassed after 4 or 5 rounds. Fighters trained much harder, fought more often, and sacrificed much more in the past than today.
