Yeah there are a few strange ones. The one thing I can say is that at least the guys they have #1 in each division looks right (assuming 118 was done prior to Donaire-Montiel). It's more than The Ring can boast, at least until Nigel & co, can come up with a credible argument for Kermit Cintron as their #1 JMW.
This is terrific news. I think as boxing fans we can all agree what the sports needs most right now is another sanctioning body.
One prominent change on their part I see is lowering the strawweight limit to 104 lb. Certainly a step in the right direction. :bears:
This time it will be different. These people seriously want to help the sport and return the respect to champions
Agreed, just like G looking out for boxers best interests because they know what it's like to be in the ring. This will be the same.
Yep, and boxingtalk has actual boxing news, something this site is severely lacking. In other news, Joey Spina stops Echols in 3!!!
OK, MOST of the #1's :: I didn't even notice that. The only thing that caught my eye at LHW was that they actually had Roy ranked.
and it also looks like Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez will have a rematch to their Dec. '09 thriller
I think The Ring has done that after some controversial decisions. I want to say they did it after Morales-Barrera I.
I'm pretty sure they also kept Randall ahead of Chavez after their rematch and if I'm not mistaken all the way until yet another controversial Randall loss, when Juan Coggi stole a page out of Luis Santana's book and celebrated on a stretcher.
