The show was good. But no fight was as good as the Rios fight. Still All in all it was fun. Just so we clear, you brought MMA up, not me.

I agree with this, although I can easily see Barrera going into survival mode. Don't see Morales doing that, which means his night can be a bit uglier - although I'm rooting like hell for an April 9 miracle.

It would be nice to see.

I don't know... give Rios a few months to grow into his role and Marquez to grow a few months older and who knows. I don't discount his chances at all, and Marquez doesn't have the greatest chin in the world.

Speaking of which.... Rios vs Maidana down the line sounds pretty mouth watering.

Who do you see backing up first?

Have no idea. All I know is that before tonight I woulda definitely said Chino by KO. I admit I didnt think Bam Bam's chin was as good as it is.

Maidana is the bigger puncher, but Rios has a better chin. I'd still favor Chino, but its not an easy call IMO.

One thing I AM confident of after this fight..... Rios would mow down Victoria Ortiz.

Yeah. To help it, I think he needs a 'Give us this day" like Manny had.

Yeah, I can't help but be reminded a little bit of Margarito when I watch Rios...the similarities are there.

I don't know who I'd favor, him or Marquez, right now...I mean, I don't expect to see it, but if they were to fight, I'm just not sure how Marquez's chin and legs hold up.

Hopefully Maidana beats the shit out of him. If there is any justice in the world, Rios will get what is coming to him.

Once again showing you have nothing to contribute to General Discussion.

Probably didn't even watch the fights on Showtime.

Rios maybe have broken his right hand, Acosta taken out on a stretcher:

Ortiz would probably jump out the ring like Kermit.

I feel the same way. Good win by Rios but my opinion about him will not change. He will be exposed very soon.

Id favor rios over marquez. he is far better than katsidis or diaz, and if marquez were to beat him it would truly be a feather in his cap at this point in his career

He showed last night that his toughness can overcome a huge skill level disadvantage.

Rios gets hit to much and it will eventually catch up to him. However he won;t lose to the first good boxer-puncher that he faces because that's what he beat last night. Rios is the type of fighter who won't have a long career but you appreciate him while he's around for making great fights. He's limited but determined. Not everyone is a boring slapper/runner like Ivan Calderon. Oh wait he just got ko'ed by a guy who fights similiar to Rios. LOL.

Must admit, though I don't like Rios at all, he is significantly better than I thought.

Limited fighter, but fucking tough, very determined, good chin, respectable power, and good stamina.

Acosta is a solid boxer puncher, he is no chump, and after getting outclassed early Rios just swarmed him, didn't give up, won by sheer determination, toughness, and stamina.

I'd still favour the top 140 pounders over him though, Bradley and Maidana. Khan would be a pick em.

Incidentally, that was a damn good fight. Boxer vs Swarmer is one of my favourite matchups.

fair enough. I'm still not sold on Rios though.

Theres fools on Eastside saying that Kat would beat Rios.:giggle::giggle:

Bam Bam would kill that poor Aussie.

Bam Bam would indeed have a very good chance of cleaning Conman's clock.

If Con couldnt get his respect, and Bam Bam pushed him back enough... Con would be fucked.

Khan would fight a lot more agressive than Acosta did last night. When Acosta backed up Rios, Rios stopped throwing.
