I thought it was a fairly close fight that could have gone either way in a very close decision..............but 99-91? That guy should have his license revoked. :shit:
I agree. I missed the last round but thought it was fairly even going in. That 99-91 score is criminal.
Thought the same. Both guys are abysmal but at least De Leon was trying to win. Boner is just another safety first fighter it seems.
I thought Broner won the first round...which makes it a draw. Even with the rounds you listed above...that's a 6-4 win for Pounced On DeLeon...how does that classify as an awful decision? Your card has it one round away from a draw? If you'd said your card were 8-2 or 7-3 or the like...then yes..."awful" is the operative word. "However" It was an awful fight. Broner didn't want to fight and Pounced On Looked like a bad bar fighter.
I was flipping back and forth between this and the Fox Sports telecast since I was on deadline for the latter. Watching live, I only saw the first three rounds and the last two, and PDL won no fewer than four rounds (if not all five). Even if he lost every other round that I missed, there's still no way that Tony Crebs should ever again be allowed to work a fight. Not that I'm a Teddy Atlas fan but I agree with his philosophy on bad judging - when a judge turns in a scorecard like that, he should be forced to sit down in front of the commission and explain in detail how he came to such a tally. Watching after the fact, I can live with 96-94 either way though I also thought PDL won or deserved no worse than a draw. Regardless, I see a return to non-televised stay busy fights for Broner's immediate future.
california commission strikes again. crebs must be able to go to any concert for the rest of his crooked life
I thought Ponce De Leon deserved to win the fight as well. Broner was not very impressive to me and it was a bad decision. I thought De Leon was going to get shafted with a draw... turned out to be worse.
Reid was probably a tick quicker, but they fight similarly and have similar skills from what I can tell.
Yeah, let's not pretend David Reid was anything special. Guy struggled with anybody who was remotely average or not completely shot, even before the Tito fight. He was a chore to watch fight to. A great story to win the Gold medal, but not very good as a pro.
agREED... While Broner Certainly DIDN'T Win Himself Any Fans, the Decision WASN'T Awful...The SCORECARDS May have Been, but NOT the Verdict Itself...Though his Workrate Left ALOT to B Desired, Broner Seemed to Land the CLEANER, More EFFECTIVE Punches, when he Did Throw... Ponce was Brought In to Get MASSACRED & he Even Fought CAUTIOUSLY in the Early Going...He's Getting OLD, LIL' GUY Points for Giving Broner a TOUGHER Fight than he Should've.... REED:hammert:
Ponce was the aggressor, throwing more, but wasn't landing an awful lot of clean shots where broner countered well, landing the cleaner shots, but does need to be more aggressive, throw more in future fights. The judge who gave it 99-91 to broner must have been watching a different fight altogether, 96-94 was the fairer scoreline.
