Danny was a stand up guy, for sure. His win over Tyson, his loss to Vitali and his defeat of Harrisson are around 100 times anything Haye has done so far. Haye is just such a fake, I couldn't hate a man less.

 

I like Danny Williams, but a little objectivity is needed here. That was more Tyson losing than Williams winning. His win over Harrison doesn't mean anything, and Haye would do much better against Vitali than Williams did.

 

This is a superfight in name and on paper only. In the ring it's just another Klitschko mismatch. I suspect Haye will fight without passion or effort and will hug a lot in order to preserve his pretty face as well as his brain cells so that he can spend all that money he's going to make in wise fashion.

 

And an extra 36 months at the end of his life.

 

The plus-side of all this, however, is that the sharpening of odds which will follow the idiot punter backing of Haye means that I'll be able to LUMP on Wlad to win by KO. To do so now he's better than even money...

A Haye by KO straddle at 2-1 and I'd be sleeping very easy.

After protracted negotiations, Haye and IBF and WBO champion Wladimir have agreed to a fight on 25 June or 2 July.

But if an abdominal injury were to rule Wladimir out his brother, WBC

champion Vitali, could face Haye in his stead.

Boente added that the fight would not necessarily occur in Germany, though he ruled out Britain as a venue.

Boente, who added that the United States would not host the fight, stressed that the contract signed did not specify which of the Ukrainian siblings Haye would meet.

It has been widely assumed that Haye will face Wladimir in a German football stadium on either 25 June or 2 July, but Boente said: "In the talks, David was not rejecting Vitali any more, he was very flexible.

"Knock on wood it's not the case, but should anything happen injury-wise [to Wladimir], as long as it is not three days before the fight or whatever, then Vitali could be the opponent."

However for that option to be feasible Vitali would first have to win his fight against Odlanier Solis on March 19.

Effectively, we don't have a guaranteed date, we don't have a guaranteed venue, we don't even know which brother it is going to be. All we do know is that Haye has ceded venue, that it won't be the UK.

Nothing. It's a "Superfight" based on a myth that David Haye is actually good. When in reality, he's done nothing more at HW than any of the other mediocre guys that Wlad has already beaten.

The ONLY reason I'm looking forward to this fight is that Haye is getting the beating of his life. Other than that, nothing of interest here.

I think Vitali vs Solis is a better fight.

Apparently, according to the varicose, bellicose Kevin Mitchell, Klitschko hails from some place called "eastern Europe"

He also says that Haye is a "better promoter" than the Klitschkos.

At least Hayes death in the ring will see these dinosaurs of the York Hall shuffle off into their Boxing News twilight.

 

Probably because it's been talked about nearly as long as that other non-existent super fight, and with nothing at all to show for either matchup.

 

This will be the fight where we see Wlad in "beast mode" and at his offensive best.

He should break out the Clubber Lang Rocky III quote when they ask him for a prediction and simply say "Pain".

 

Ironically, Hayes chances are at their very lowest when Wlad fights conservatively. The things which Haye mocks, such as the grab and jab, are the same things he will hope to be avoiding.

 

I still wont believe it until I see em in the ring.... but if it comes to pass it'll be the FIRST heavyweight fight in 8 years that ill be interested in.

steve I totally agree. I am just not excited for this fight.

Not because I think it won't happen, but because I think it'll be a boring fight AND I don't really care who wins. Plus I give Haye about a 2% chance purely because of Wlad's chin.

I respect Wlad's ability, but most of his recent performances have been obscenely boring, and this one is going to be no different. Wlad is at his most dominant when he is at his most boring and safety first.

The only thing I like about this fight is that it'll be a big event of course, and the excitement shall probably run off on me.

 

His last two performances have seen grown men, with what, 3, 4 defeats between them, require urgent medical attention at the end of the fight. Whatever else, both fights ended violently and with lasting damage to both of his victims.

Wlad is probably going to get nailed in this one, at some stage, but Haye is not the puncher he, Haye, thinks he is. Wlad will have him exhausted by the 4th, and will pile it on from there on in.

He is looking to hurt this guy. Make no mistake about it.
