Canelo needs to work himself up to Cintron....he talked about two more fight before he is ready for the ELITE in the division..... Is Joel Julio still around? He should be Canelo's next opponent.....then maybe Cory Spinks to change and show Canelo's a different style.... THEN CINTRON...
I agree, I think Cintron will hammer Canelo into a early retirement at this point. A fight with Spinks would be very interesting.
Alvarez. The kid has something Cintron doesn't, actual talent. I'm not sure how tough he is but he's got to be tougher than Cintron so that should be enough to easily beat Kermit. By the way is it me or does Alvarez look like he could pass for Blake Griffin's kid brother?
If he had negro in him like Blake, then I would agree. Oh and another differance.... Blake actually has the talent to back up his hype.:hammert::hammert:
So because I'm not on Canelo's nuts and prasing him as the second coming, I must hate him? LOL. Do you work for Golden Boy or something? I hardly hate the Ginger. He's just not as good as his hype. I think he can be a great action/TV fighter... but hardly a great fighter.
The kid is 20 and 1 of the biggest attractions in the sport already. Im not saying hes going to be a HOFer but he has a lot of talent.
No, he doesnt. He doesnt have special speed. He doesnt have special power. He has shit footwork, and shit defense. All the makings of an exciting fighter, but not an elite one.
Not if you look at the fact that Baldomir is over the hill, old as all fuck, was coming off a very long layoff, and appears to have called it quits now. But other than all that, yeah it was special.
A guy with special power would have starched Matthew Hatton. He hit him with enough clean shots. Not only did he not KO Hatton, he didnt even SERIOUSLY hurt him. Theres no way in hell that Hatton would go the distance with Kirkland, or Angulo. As for Canelo vs Cintron..... at this point I'd take Kermit. I DO think that Canelo will improve enough eventually that he could beat Cintron. But right now his defense is TERRIBLE, and walking into Cintron's right hand wouldnt be good for him at all.
This is actually a decent gut-check fight imo. If Alvarez can beat Cintron, that says something; people (including myself) shit on Cintron, but regardless, you have to concede that Kermit the Leaping doesn't usually make for an easy out. Canelo gets hit a lot. It'd be interesting to see what happens the first time Alvarez eats Cintron's right, or how he'd deal with Cintron's ability to jab and move.
Let me break it down, If Jose Miguel Cotto seriously hurt Alvarez @147, you can bet your house Cintron lays him the fuck out! Lets not forget Jose Cotto had no business @147 and still managed to hurt Alvarez.
Hatton has never stepped up in class. I would bet any money you want he wouldn't see the 12th round against Kirkland or Angulo. Alvarez's power is average. Even people with so so power get decent KO's occasionally, especially over 40 year old fighters. Alvarez is slow with average power, crap footwork, awful defense, and average stamina. Where is the talent exactly?
The kid just won a world title and he's 2 figths away from the "Elite" Now that is fucking funny. If you fight for a world title, you should be ready for anyone in your division.
Well he clearly isn't ready for the "ELITE" in his division....this was a gift from the WBC...to a mexican promoter and mexican fighter...SHIT everyone should be so lucky of having the easy task of fighting Matthew Hatton for a world title...
I don't care weatehr his ready or not...but G will lose millions if the ginger gets beat by the likes of angulo and kirkland..they won't risk him..yet.
