How would this have ended? Who had the advantage before the stoppage, excluding the cut? Did Lewis seem more tired compared to Vitali to you at the end of the 6th?
It was becoming a sloppy brawl that would have went to the cards. Decision could have went either way.
Vitali had ALREADY Hit Lennox w/his BEST Shit in the 1st 3-4 Rounds, but Couldn't Get him Out of there...By the Time of the Stoppage, the Tide had CLEARLY TURNED in Lennox's Favor...Lennox had Vitali as BADLY HURT as we've Ever Seen, in the 6th Round... REED Doubts if Vitali would've Made it Past Round 8... REED:hammert:
You think Lennox thought the same? I mean if he did, why wouldn't he have granted him the rematch like he promised?
To Put it MILDLY, Lennox Lewis was ALWAYS a 'Weird' Guy...The Win was a LEGIT 1, the Cut was Caused by a PUNCH...The Bottom Line is, An UNmotivated Lennox Lewis Stopped Vitali Klitschko in 6 Rounds, so it'd have Probably Been DIFFICULT for him to Renew the Dedication for 1 Last Training Camp... Lennox had ALREADY Dominated his Era & Etched his Place in Heavyweight History... REED:hammert:
That's a reach. Although his face was a mess and it was rightfully stopped. Vitali took Lennies best shows and was never even wobbled the whole fight.
Watch it again. Lennox is the one collapsing on his Stool. Vitali had plenty of Energy. The only thing affecting Vitali was the eye and we have taken that out of the picture.
OK, as long as we're imagining, how about we take Lennox not training out of the picture, too? Then we don't have to imagine what would happen after the 6th round, because Vitali would've gotten KTFO long before then.
Makes no sense. He didn't collapse into his stool any of the previous rounds. In that final round, Lewis face showed so much sign of frustration and he was so happy when the fight was stopped. We know vitali's has good stamina going into the late rounds. Lewis was just sloppy and exhausted towards the end. You have to admit that the cut eye affected Vitali in some way right? And yet he was still more active than Lewis. So take the eye out of the picture, and you would see a much fresher vitali probably Knocking Lewis out in the tenth.
But Lennox did train. He was training for his fight with Johnson. Now he didnt train for Vitali, but he did have a training camp. And Vitali wasnt training for Lewis. And this whole thread is imaginary. Look at the Title.
Yep, so I'm imagining too. I'm imagining we got Lennox at 100%, say the Lennox that beat Holyfield the first time around or the one that beat Rahman in the rematch. Cut or no cut, I imagine Vitali gets the shit kicked out of him.
REED is Pretty Sure that Lennox "Collapsed" on his Stool @ Other Junctures Too, but for Whatever Reason, Some HARP on him Doing it After Round 6 as Some Sort of "Proof" that he was DONE or Something...He WASN'T...Lennox had just had his BEST Round of the Entire Fight & Vitali had just Gone Thru THE WORST Round of his Entire CAREER (INCLUDING Fights AFTER Lennox)... REED:hammert:
& U Know this HOW???...Let's NOT Pretend that HBO Shows BOTH Fighters Walking to their Corners & Sitting, EVERY SINGLE Round...Instead of Judging what Transpired During the Final ROUND of the Fight, U're Actually Guaging your Opinion on the BTWN ROUNDS Goings On???... REED::
That wasnt Lennox's best round. He landed like three hard punches. Vitali also landed hard punches that round. At the end of the round, Vitali looked Fresher.
I spoke about what happened. Lewis looked sloppy and was holding a lot. So was vitali, dont get me wrong. But vitali was fresher. Lewis landed about three hard punches that round. Vitali landed about two. Im sure Lewis wasn't collapsing in his corner prior to that round.
I would imagine you are right. But whether lewis trained specifically for Vitali or not, you still would not get the lewis that beat Holyfield or Rachman. That is why he retired after the fight. But to Say Lewis didnt train is not true. He did train, just for a different fighter. Just like Vitali.
I think if Lewis had trained specifically for Vitali, he would have beaten him. Lewis is one of the greatest Heavies of all time. But this wasnt Lewis at his best. He knew it. Everyone knew it. And the is a reason why he didnt give Vitali a rematch. He didnt have another one of those fights left in him
Lewis was exhausted at the end of round 6, but Vitali wasn't a ball of energy either and his face looked like a used maxi pad. He was hurt by a short right hand late in round 6 and was falling over Lennox. Who knows what would have happened? Vitali put up a respectable effort and it was an entertaining fight, but the faggot won fair and square. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JlFhLg4l0hY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
