Normally I'd say "Who gives a fuck?" But it would be pretty funny if he was - would make the beating he gives Mayorga that much more satisfying.

I have to be honest... while there's no question that Cotto is a metrosexual, it wouldn't shock me if it came out that Mayorga is an active down-low participant.

I'm really interested in this fight, despite myself. Quite a few X factors in it. If Mayorga isn't shot, he's being underrated here.

Nobody apart from Oscar has ever dominated Mayorga at 154 or below the way EVERYONE assumes Cotto's gonna. Meanwhile it's only Cotto's 2nd fight at the weight.....against a guy who was a single good round from a draw with Mosley 2 years ago. Yet Im seeing 24-1 on Mayorga by decision? Mayorga is a misspercieved guy. He almost never actually gets outboxed the way people imagine it'd be easy to. Meanwhile does Cotto have the kind of power that can make it easy for him at 154?

Cotto's the only sensible pick given Mayorga's age and inactivity, but from a gambling/punting perspective, a 5er on Mayorga wouldn't be misplaced.

It would be smart for Cotto not to engage Mayorga early. This is the only chance Mayorga has.

All Cotto has to do is stay close to Mayorga like Oscar did. Work the body and it's just a matter of time.

Agreed! Only shot Mayorga has is if Cotto goes toe to toe. I dont think he got to Miguel so I dont see this happening.

Judging by his relationship with Baby Pun.... I'd say that yes, he has some Curry in him.

I want Mayorga to utterly fuck him up, personally.

I pick Cotto by body punch related stoppage, but that's because mayorga is past his best and has the tendency (like Tyson) to fold when adversity strikes.

But I prefer Mayorga. Cotto's personality is very dull. He never calls out anyone, just says stuff like "My promoter and trainer will set up the fight". Plus I don't gravitate towards chinny guys. They annoy me.

With all these resident fightbeaters suggesting that Cotto would have easily beaten a prime Mayorga..I want this very degraded version of Mayo to knock Miguel the fuck out!

:giggle: Okay.......I actually agree with you here that a prime Mayorga knocks Cotto the fuck out.

And it has work for him...he has faced some of the best competition at 147...Mosley...Margarito..Clottey..Pac...

That might be the reason why Mayweather left TOP RANK..he wanted to be treated like Yuri Foreman or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr...easy fights...all the way....

Clottey, Cotto & Margarito were not easy fights for Pac

Get real. Clottey is a bum.

Shotto was coming off a brick-gloved beatdown from Margarito.

Margarito got his magic wraps taken away and got his ass kicked by Shane Mosley.

Who else has he fought? Floyd's leftovers and David Diaz. Whooptefricking doo.

If you buy this as a worthwhile run, I have some 100% pure cocaine in a salt shaker to sell you.

Nothing you posted indicates those weren't tough fights. Clottey is a bum, but went the distance with Pac. Margarito went the distance with Pac. Cotto had some good exchanges with Pac. None of those fights were easy. All of these guys were bigger than pac. They werent easy fights.

Clottey went the distance because he didn't fight. Margarito went the distance because his corner was stupid.

Regardless, the fact that they weren't easy does not mean they weren't cherry-picked. All of the fighters Pac has fought since leaving 130 could either inarguably be described as "bums," were coming off career-altering beatings, or were completely washed up. Not one single guy he's fought was a badass coming off a big win.

And now he's fighting Shane Mosley, another fighter that Floyd embarrassed and beat up first..

    Come on.

Well make up your mind. My argument was that they were tough. You said they werent. So its not regardless anything. We are talking something specific. That being said, who would you have pac fight instead of those three guys?

You're right, I should have said "tough opponents" instead of "tough fights."

Who I would have rather had Pac fight?

Tim Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley coming off the Margarito win (when Roach said they'd fight Shane at 142.. funny how they don't need a catchweight now), and obviously Floyd Jr.

Of course, to fight the last guy in his list, the inked-up Pac has to KO his phobia of needles, first..

Pac agreed to the test and Floyd wasnt interested in fighting. So now we got Shane. After Bradley's performance against Alexander, you think that he would pose a thread to Pac? As for Marquez, i wish they would fight too, but you could blame both parties. Pac fought the bigger guys and made history doing it. He will be more remembered for his wins against Cotto and Margarito than Against Bradley & Marquez

Pac agreed to "2 weeks out" several months after Floyd took that off the table when the initial negotiations had fallen apart because of Pac's fear of needles, and because he couldn't withstand losing an amount of blood that a newborn infant wouldn't notice.

I think Bradley would pose more of a threat than Shane, and more importantly, that perception was universal long before Pac signed to fight Shane.

Pac's team wants their A fighter in with B level guys. Sometimes if it's a B+ level guy, they'll make him come down to Mannyweight (tm) to give Pac a further advantage.
