Sullivan was usta hard man.. He would ko Botha and the the old sullivan snake would enter the wihte buffalo's butt hole and spray white venom inside
You don't think Sulivans rough house Tatics would help him? N big ass pillow gloves! Fight until one quits,,,he would wear down botha's fat ass then rip off his trunks and plow botha in the ASS!! DRY!!!
there's no way a 190 pound man with no knowledge of what a jab is, what it looks like, what combination punching is, what head movement is, what footwork is does anything except get killed by Frans Botha YOu don't need Botha... Everett "Bigfoot" Martin or Joe Hipp could get the job done the same the game that John L Sullivan was involved in was boxing in name only
Here is John slightly past his prime in 1898. Here is John in his prime, presumably 1880's or early 1990's. Something I didn't realise until now is that John L Sullivan had a vagina. Despite him having a vagina, he'd trounce Botha. Too tough and too much stamina. He sometimes fought like 80 something round fights, for 2 hours.
Until i see a back and white photo of Botha or read some unsubstantiated rumors about him i have to go with Sullivan.
I can't think of a single modern contender or champion that I wouldn't pick over Sullivan by KO. BTW in Sullivan's time, those 80 rounds sometimes lasted for just a few seconds.
How long were they really? I wondered that myself, it keeps saying like a "75th round KO" etc and you think WTF :: But it also says the fights sometimes lasted an hour or two, so they couldn't have been a few seconds.
Under the London Prize Ring Rules, that were used before Queensberry's, each round lasted until one of the fighters went down, so one round can have been anything from three seconds to three hours. Also back then wrestling was allowed so rounds often ended when guys wrestled each other to the ground
I mean look at the guy. Look at his body. Do you really think he can go 50 rounds or whatever at today's pace? Back then the pace they fought at was a pace of a chess match. One guy throws a punch and the other sits back on his stool with his thumb scratching his chin thinking about how to counter that move..
