Honestly, I think Vitali would have won.

If the cut was from a legit punch, not laces, then it's a legit win.

But even though Lewis was doing pretty well and busted Vitali's face, he was fucking gassed.

I think Vitali would have outlasted Lewis.

 

First guess. It seems like a bit of a jerk-off thread, and I don't mean written by a jerkoff. Sure Vitali's face had half an eyelid still attached and a deep gouge on his cheekbone remaining along with a likely concussion, but if Lennox wasn't as gassed, how much more could he have beaten Vitali's face off his skull? Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

Lennox was an unpopular champ in many regards back then. In his farewell fight against a formidable opponent, people still wish the opponent had at least one advantage he didn't have. Lennox won. It wasn't pretty and he had peaked earlier, but he won.

No, I was correcting your misinterpretations of my post (albeit in a smarmy manner). Had nothing to do with you disagreeing with me. If I was that thin-skinned I wouldn't bother posting on forums.

 

The fact that there was a thread about this same topic about 2 weeks ago. The arguments are always the same and no one budges in their opinions on the fight. Just wish this topic would go away for another few months before we have to rehash it all over again.
