    It's crazy when something so unexpected happens like this, with no rumours etc beforehand.

    What do you think happens now? does UFC basically merge them? Does Strikeforce still exist, but they fight each other?

    Nothing is going to change except ZUFFA's influence on SF's product.

    It would seem peculiar to buy SF, but keep them completely seperate, with no cross organisation matches or anything.

    They should have two cards of UFC vs Strikeforce

    On one card on the UFC's home turf with ufc octagon UFC announcers and etc
    The other on the Strikeforce's home turf with Strikeforce announcers and etc.

    Champions vs Champions and all. That shit would sell like crazy.

    I wonder if the fighters knew. I wonder if Fedor knew that he is now a UFC a fighter. From the interview with Dana it seems that everything will be under UFC.

    this sets up some real nice matchups at HW. Not to mention Gilbert Melendez and Nick Diaz get to show if they are for real. Mousasi in the UFC is badass.

    Im just curious how long it takes until Strikeforce is just absorbed into the UFC. Just doesn't make too much sense to run them separately. That's why the WEC merger happened.

    Exactly. Its fucking stupid. The UFC is the brand that is growing. You dont fucking buy a company and then pretend nothing will change. What was the point of the purchase than?

    Its true, but to be fair, they discarded them because they didnt have the room for them. If they have the roster they have now, they could have kept them. I wonder if the UFC will now be partnered with Dream. Who was partners with strikeforce.
