Now...what did I tell you about prompting that idiot-child? Let him be before he gets himself hurt. Really Sly, prompting L'Ingenue Candien into getting itself into trouble. Just let him alone with his pills and his DVD's.

Disagreed. Grant became the3rd ranked heavyweight in the world only because of his talent (big right cross, some athletic ability, some speed etc). He lacked skill but not talent

He lacked everything. He got there based on Size alone. If he was 6'2", 210 lbs we would have never heard of him. He had no coordination, no balance, no chin, all his punches were awkward. He was just a gigantic bum.

However sloppy they may have been, at least he threw punches, which is more than can be said for that fucking bum Abraham

Size is sort of a talent too (you can't learn it) and compared to many similar size or bigger guys such as Kevin McBride Grant clearly had talent.

AA was overrated as all hell(including by me), but he has legit power.... and power is a talent. Therefore we cant say he's talentless.

He was fairly primitive in the days that MaxSoCalBoxing.com regularly kept him (and Margarito) in the rotation, no doubt.

But dare I say, he's become a better fighter over the years and since the JuanMa fight. He's still a long way from a pretty boxer, or even skilled in the traditional sense, but he's a better fighter than given credit for.

I have to agree with my boy Slice, Arabham was as talentless as they come, he's the best example so far.

Obviously the title of this thread is VIRTUALLY talentless, because let's face it, which legit beltholders have literally no talent? Almost none.

Punching power is very much a talent, but good power is literally all he has.

Take that away and he's a total scrub, as you saw against Frock. Against a solid super middle, his punch didn't have much effect and he made the Fighting Farmer look like Sugar Ray Leonard.

For example, I even consider that cheating cunt Plasterito to be more talented. To be fair to the scumbag, he's always had excellent chin and stamina and workrate, which IMO is more of a talent than the level of punching power that Arabham has.

I still think Abraham could be a useful contender at Middle. He relies on being able to physically bully guys, he needs the size advantage he had at 160 for that. It's an all or nothing style - if he can't wear a guy down & ambush him he's got SHIT.

How come nobody mentioned Ruiz yet?

Shitloads of Germany based champions too, like Ottke, Beyer, Grigorian, Erdei, etc...

Also, Glen Johnson - while he became champ not because of good management, as said in the opening post - wasn't really blessed with any physical talent, he is successful almost solely due to his tenacity.

If you are trying to become the new Fightbeat troll you have to work harder, because Slice with his gay stalker Chunky act is clearly in the lead.

There is a difference between being protected and having no talent. These guys all had talent. The champions from Germany that had no talent, you have never actually heard of. Wait till you see the WBC middlewieght champion Sebastian Zbik defend his title against Chavez Jr. in LA soon. He´ll make Junior look like Senior.

You know full well I'm not trolling.

Arabham is a scrub with a punch, and one of the least talented champions I've ever seen.

He looked like an inept oaf against Frock, a big, strong guy with a half decent jab who could take his shots.

Fuck, I even thought Eastman beat him.

I've been telling you for years he's scrubby as fuck, and when he moved up to proper world class I was proved right. He looked like a super scrub against Dirrell and Frock.

Beyer, maybe. Grigorian, definitely, Erdei, maybe. Ottke? Definitely not.

Stinky Style and lack-of-power don't make anyone talentless, in fact, once you lack power and speed, you better have some real talent, or you're dead.

Knocking out with 1 punch a guy that the vaunted hitter Echols couldn't do a damn thing with is talent. He also beat a tonne of big-names in the amatuers.

    Ottke definitely had talent.

Against Froch, yes. But against Dirrell, he looked like a guy who was working his way back into the fight. In fact Dirrell might be the Uncrowned King Of Scrubbishness.

Honestly, that would have been the only good thing Arabham did do. Dirrell is sickening.

That was the only fight I actually rooted for Arabham.

Nice try Jurgen, but I think you'll find me and Mex have been saying Abraham is utter shit for years. He has the dumbest fighting style I have ever seen, at least since The Shadow graced YouTube with Illusive Boxing. His only way of fighting is what most fighters use as a last resort when they've run out of ideas. Utter shit.

Actually you're right, Zbik is a level below them, but i don't consider him a real beltholder, he got the belt only to hand it over to Chavez Jr.

I don't think so. Ottke had a decent chin, and he had a very negative style, he knew how to make the opponent's offense ineffective, often by illegal means, with the cooperation of the ref, but he had no power, average speed, no accuracy, he couldn't even throw proper punches. The Mundine ko was a freak accident imo.
