See what he has to say… - Paul Daley recently posted about fighting Nick Diaz and the Zuffa-Strikeforce deal, here is what he had to say… * Business as usual, what if i dont wanna fight for DANA WHITE? Daley vs Diaz still on?.....Someone better holla at my manager real quick. * Business as usual, what if i dont wanna fight for DANA WHITE/ZUFFA?......Dana white bans me for life from the UFC, Then buys STRIKEFORCE, and thinks im still gonna be EASY and fight on one of the most anticipated fights of the year (vs Diaz)? Which will no doubt make ZUFFA/Dana White money. Daley vs Diaz still on?.....Someone better holla at my manager real quick. * Not sure what im gonna do right now, honestly...fight for the Strikeforce and be Strikeforce champ, put money in ZUFFA/Dana Whites pockets? Or fight here in the UK for BAMMA, who appreciate my brand, and have my loyal fans, family and media support me. For real. What a fucking moron. He fucked up UFC rightfully bans him and no he's acting like he has too much pride to go back. What a loser.
He is a stupid fuck. Of course he wants to fight. He wants to and will. He better Hope Dana wants to work with HIM. Not the other way around. Nobody gives a fuck about Daley
This is Paul Daley nervous as fuck that he will get bounced now. He's trying to set it up that it was his idea to leave. He and his manager are really hoping he gets a call
Well, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds. If Daley were smart, he'd fight Nick Diaz; whip his ass; and then see if Dana stays true to his word about Daley never fighting in the UFC again.
What an idiot. Why would he be mad at the UFC? He's the fucking idiot who sucker punched someone. He has nobody to blame but himself. The UFC did what right and kicked his ass out. There is no place in the sport for shit like that.
I don't agree with what the UFC did by cutting him, i thought it was harsh. That said, this is stupid talk...if he wants to prove himself as one of the best welterweights in the world, Nick Diaz is one of the few opponents outside of the UFC that he can do that against. Zuffa are gonna make a shit load of money with or without Paul Daley, and with the speed in which they cut him from the UFC, he should realise that.
If Daley destroys Diaz, he makes himself the best 170 pound fighter in the world outside the UFC. The problem is that he was easily handled by Josh Koscheck who is probably no higher than 5th or 6th on the UFC roster at 170. And there are guys ahead of Koscheck that Daley couldn't touch in GSP, Shields, Penn, Fitch, etc. So the point is that the UFC loses absolutely nothing in Daley.
yep, i agree. My only point is that i think the punishment for what happened after the Koscheck fight was excessive. I can wait for the day when one of the UFC's big stars tries something like that, then see what happens to them. What Bisping did was certainly not the same, but not a million miles off if we're talking about behaviour, respect and acting like a role model. He'll come away with a slap on the wrist (as far as i know, they haven't formally punished him yet).
who was the boxer that punched the dude after the fight with no gloves on? I think his name was Butler? what was his punishment? Just curious. Personally, adamiw, I think the lifetime ban was a bit harsh too, but seriously, I don't see any of the UFC's big stars handling themselves like Daley did. Daley, is lucky Koschek didn't press charges and sue his ass, his sponsors, and his camp for the action.
I know I could go check for myself, but is he boxing today? I think the UFC kicking him to the curb but he was obviously allowed to go earn money elsewhere is a bit better than 4months in the pen.
He was actually living with Max's brother, they were friends. I'm not sure exactly why he murdered him, he is obviously a complete and utter nutjob.
Yeah, they are not in the same league. Daley is a hot headed prick, Butler is a bonafide murdering psychopath. Did you read the part that he killed him with a hammer and his nickname was The Harlem Hammer? :tick:
Yeah, James Butler. It was a different situation....the bout ended, the fighters went back to their corners and then met in the centre of the ring, Butler at that point had removed his gloves, then threw the sucker punch. It was horrible. I think it was a hell of a lot more cold-blooded...i can't remember for sure, but there was probably about a minute, maybe more, in between the end of the fight and the incident. And what Daley did wasn't nice...but it happened seconds after the bell and he had been goaded throughout the fight....that's no excuse, but it's a reason. You poke a guy with a stick often enough, it's no surprise that you get a reaction. But of course, he went too far (in this sense, it is comparable to the Bisping-Rivera aftermath) UFC had every right in coming down heavily on him...i just think they went too far. I, like you, don't see any of the current crop doing anything like that soon, but how can you predict such a thing?...it might be 5, 10 or 20 years before something like that happens again but the precedent has now been set. If Dana and co follow it and, hypothetically, are prepared to throw out a GSP or a Anderson Silva for doing the same thing, then fair enough...they are excersing that same zero tolerance policy. As an organisation who pretty much run the top level of the sport (even more so now) they must strive to be fair to everyone. As an aside, there could well be a whole lot more to it. Perhaps Daley was never in Dana's good books....that hasn't been disclosed and the only reason for the lifetime ban was that glancing left hook at the conclusion of a very ill-tempered battle.
Daley deserved to get banned for life. Bisping's behavior is nowhere near the same thing. I don't care if Daley tells the UFC to fuck off; he's right about one thing--UFC will make money off of him if he fights for them. They are pure leeches. Daley doesn't need the UFC, they don't need him.
If Daley wants to make any significant amount of money in MMA, he does need the UFC. He won't get paid a quarter in orgs around Europe, and only half if he goes to Japan. The UFC does not need Daley. But Daley is about to be washed aside in MMA.
